Sad news from Italy
Due to creative/ideological differences between the editors, COME UNDONE/ECLIPSED, the Italian fanzine doesn't exist anymore, the expected 21st issue won't ever be released, don't send money anymore to any of the editors. We beg anyone to understand, we meant no harm to any Duran fans, though it is impossible to continue. We hope we will hear again from all of you out there, and we thank you for your great work and the great support you will be showing to DD for many years to come. It's a great effort, we know about it, we have desperately tried to do our best, though sometimes it is just not possible, it is useless to drag things further. Keep loving DURAN DURAN as much as we all do! SIMON INFORMATION:

Great news from our boys!! Yes, it is hard to believe but the Essentials has sold well, well enough in fact for EMI to plan on releasing a second set hopefully by the end of the year. In addition, in the planning stages is a b-sides compilation and perhaps even a live album to come out in the next few years. Apparently, we duranies really showed what we were made of! For all those who have not bought it yet, I still highly recommend the Essentials, as just that, essential to anyone's collection. Also, I have heard that some may be disappointed just because it is 12" re- mixes. I think the whole point of buying it is to allow what was previously only available on vinyl to be on cd. You can never replace the warmth of vinyl but CDs are so much more durable. In other Simon news...syn are going to Cannes to perform Dream Boys; from the film Love Kills which still has no distributor, but Cannes should help get the ball rolling. A soundtrack deal will follow the release of the film. Syn scored the whole film; Simon wrote Dream Boys and Cupid's Hitman but only performs on Dream Boys.
WARREN INFORMATION Lo Fi records, the record company that Nick and Warren run, is working with many new bands for their label. Nick and Warren are also working as producers on 2 projects. demo submissions for Lo Fi and/or Syn should be sent to PO Box 419, New York, NY 10021, USA, ATTN: SYN or Lo Fi
NICK INFORMATION: Here is interesting information from the Duran Hotline, (212) 388-2888, plans for a European release of Medazzaland are still up in the air. The band is hoping to re-release Medazzaland *with an extra track* in both the US and UK/Europe next year.
