I was blessed to have been able to catch Lady T's show @ the House of Blues/Hoolywood. It was unbelievable. I was floored...she gave up an excellent performance. It was topped w/an appearance by Cassanova Brown himself, Rick James. Teena belted ou her part of Fire & Desire, then Rick came out & began singing his part. Needless to say, it was an outstanding performance. Lady T has such a seductive, almost hypnotic voice and range. I can hardly wait to catch another show!!!

Another thing I would like to see under " Words of Wisdom" is the poem in the vinyl of "Irons in the Fire". After reading this pass ge, you will understand why Mary Brockert changed her name to "Teena Marie" (Basically a Rick James creation). I have basically "studied" Teena Marie since 1994 and I have managed to collect everything that she appeared on and/or created. From Passion P ay to the obscure "14 K" from the Goonies Soundtrack. The reason for my madness is because She was a great inspiration to my life and she has taught me a life time of lessons in a simple album collection. My favorite Album is Lady T and my favorite song ritten by her is You Make Love like springtime". Ir is hard to believe that none of the young people I deal with have no idea who she is and what she's done. The last time I have seen her was on that UNCF telethon. She sang "lovergirl" and they cut her off when she did a passion play medley. As of now, I don't really want to bug her with asking "When are you coming back? or "How come you didn't do 'never say you love me again' with Rick on unban rhapsody?". All I have to say to her was that I will re pect any decision she would make because I have enough faith in her as a person to do what she thinks is right. Her only priority to her (Teena Marie or Mary Brockert or whatever she's signing her royalty checks) happiness and her children. Teena Marie is the bomb! I am very thankful I found this site. I always meet the coolest people at her shows and it's fun to talk with others who share an interest in her wonderful talents. I just got something new from her which I want to share with e eryone. It's entitled "Baby, Do you Feel Me?" It's on Danny Tenaglia's CD "Tourism." It's a definite departure from anything we've heard. It's more like house music, to me. I enjoyed it and will continue playing it. Lady Tee can also be found on Pam la Williams album "The Saxtress." Latin Lullabye is a wonderful Teena Marie song along with the remake of Secret Garden which includes Patti LaBelle. Also check out the New York Undercover soundtrack called "A Night At Natalie's." Teena does a cover of the Rose Royce hit, Wishing On A Star! It's worth listening to over and over again. I guess we'll just have to wait until something new develops with her solo career. M

I've been digging Teena's sound since the early eighties, and I'm very disappointed that she hasn't put out a record lately. She certainly has the talent, but she apparently is in a creative slump for whatever reason. It would be nice if she could colla orate with some of the best R&B producers such as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, who could bring out the best in her. Look at what they did for Janet Jackson, who has very limited talent, if any. Anyway, I'll keep my ears open for something from her.
