1. Beetle Up-Date
Saturday, May 1. I Faxed a copy of the first page to Perry Johnson at Brockman VW. I thought that since I had used his name
and Brockman VW on my page it would be considerate to let them see the page. (I also included my phone number on the Fax.)
I really expected a call from them, but nothing. I guess they're not concerned with the loss of one NB sale.

2. Beetle Up-Date
Made a trip to the dealer where I have the deposit for "NB" to see how
things are moving and let my wife see an actual Beetle! I think that
she has seen almost all the NB pages and pictures on the Web even watched
the Insurance crash test several times.
Arrive at Vic Bailey VW early. We look at the nice red
NB on the showroom floor. She agrees that it looks better in red
than what she thought it would. She gets in and checks out the seating,
cup holders, clock and the long black dash. "WooWee...
You could land a plane on it. It's gonna be fun cleaning the front
windshield".
Barry the salesman I placed the deposit with was busy so we
just looked around. Tim Pitts, a salesman there came over
and spoke to us. We talked about NB stuff. I think Tim
could qualify for the "Salesman of the Year Award". One of
the nicest salespersons I've ever encountered. Hey, and I'm the guy
when approached on car lots that greet the salesman with...
"OH, No! Attack by the Killer Salesman. Run, Quick." Yep, that
one always goes over real well. I like to tell 'em stuff like,
"You can't Sh^t a Man with a Turd Every Pocket".
So, the guys at Vic Bailey never attacked me and I haven't
had to use any of my (poor) sense of humor on them. And just to think
of all the fun I missed.
Here's the car that they have on the floor right now. (Sorry,
it's already sold.) I asked Tim it he would like his picture
on the Internet. "Sure", he said. He was even nice enough to
offer to swap jobs with me. (I've bought enough cars, selling them might
not be a bad idea!) He might have thought I was joking... Who,
Me? Never.
Their waiting list has grown and also a few people have dropped
off the list by locating a few cars from "Scalpers". Five or six
cars are due any day. The most popular colors on their list are the
2 blue colors and green. I think I am one of the few people that
actually wanted Yellow. Could this be a bad color? One of the
colors I didn't want was red but as you can see the red looks very nice!
So, now I'm in the wait mode again since the other half of the
"Finance Committee" has approved. I hope the yellow NB arrives soon.

Call Barry to bug (get it BUG) him about the cars that he should have
received. He says that the shippment was delayed because of the "Battery
Box" problem. "They're on the way".
OK. Good news. I received a call on Monday asking if I would take a Diesel? Humm... I don't know. Maybe? So, look the WWW over for TDI information. Not any... Except Nancy's web page. Sent Nancy and Al a "I need information or opinions"! They seem to be very happy with thier diesel!
Found this picture on the web today and had to steal it (opps) for my
site.
Morons are born every day! Check out the Smoke, think Mom
or Dad knew how the front tires got worn a little?
A Free Beetle from
Their NB is Yellow w/grey interior and has a automatic transmission.
If you "Click" on the "Rock 101" logo above you can go to their home page
to take a look. I've been a avid listner for many years. If
you notice the guy in the pictures he's "Tony Magoo". Tony's a DJ at 101
and has a real sense of humor.
I receive a call on Wednesday concering color etc. of the diesel. And the Color is BLACK! WooWee. She's gona be HOT! Again I'm wating. My cars on the way! :-)
Rock 101 (WROQ) is giving away this New Beetle in Greenville S.C.!
I went to a remote in Simpsonville S.C. on Saturday the 16th to get a look.
