Desensitized will be on South Park soundtrack:

Green Day has finally confirmed that they will release the song "Desensitized" for the South Park soundtrack which is due out in September. The song was previously only available on the Japanese version of Nimrod. The bands video for 'Time of Your Life' is also now leading the voting for MTV's Viewers Choice 'Best Video' award. Vote now for Green Day.

Billie Joe may appear on 'Drew Carey Show' next season:

In an episode to be shot on August 24th, Billie may make a cameo appearance on the Drew Carey Show in an episode where Carey's band is auditioning for a new guitarist, but they are unable to find anybody bad enough to match the talents of the other players. Other's who have been asked to appear include; Slash, Joey Ramone, Lisa Loeb and Jonny Lang. It's is not currently known whether or not Billie will accept the role or not. In chart news, Green Day's recent release of a live version of 'Time Of Your Life' played on electric guitar, is #13 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart. The song is also said to be receiving very heavy airplay.


311:

Upcoming "Omaha Sessions" Album:

The compilation CD of 311's pre-Capricorn indie releases is tentatively titled "Omaha Sessions." It will include remixed versions of "Soulsucker", "Today My Love", "Slinky", and "This Too Shall Pass." It will also include the original Unity versions of "Summer of Love", "Damn", "Rollin", "Down South", and "Right Now." All the tracks will be re-mastered to improve sound quality. The CD will be available through the 311 Website Merchandise Page and through the 311 Mail Order Catalog. The new mail order catalog should be sent out by the end of August and will hopefully begin shipping CD's in September. The CD will not be available in stores.

Upcoming Live Album and Clash Tribute Album:

311 is still hoping to release a Live Album through Capricorn Records in November of 1998. They are in the process of reviewing tapes of all the shows that 311 have recorded over the past several years.

The Clash Tribute Album will be released February 1999. It will include Clash songs recorded by 311, No Doubt, Rancid, The Urge and more.
