BIOGRAPHY

 

     Joe  Sasina,  currently  appearing as  the  "ONE  MAN  BAND"  is  a  mixture  of  musical  styles,  sounds,  and  entertainment,  combined  with  raw  artistry  and  creative  innovation.

     Joe  started  playing  guitar  at  age  13.  As  a  self  taught  musician,  he  was  influenced  by  artists  such  as  Eric  Clapton,  Jimi  Hendrix,  BB King,  and  George  Benson.  Joe  went  on  to  study  music  at  Cleveland  State University  and  at  Cuyahoga  Community  College.  As  a  multi-instrumentalist,  he  plays  acoustic  and  electric  guitars,  keyboards,  harmonica,  digital  sax,  and  banjo.  He  integrates  these  into  different musical  styles  along  with  computerized  technology  to  give  a  "Live"  band  performance.

     Joe  played  acoustical  music  during  the early  70's  with  the  duo  "Serio  and  Sasina",  covering  the  music  of  James  Taylor,  Bob  Dylan,  Neil  Young  and  the  likes.  He  was  the  lead  guitarist  with  the  band  " Private  Property,"  backing  a  female  vocalist  and  " Moondog "  in  the  late  70's,  playing  Rock  and  Blues  of  the  time.

     For  the  10  year  period  of  the  80's,  Joe  performed  as  guitarist/singer/performer  with  " Two  Way  Street ",  a  traveling  dance  and  show  group.  Building  his stage  presence  and  honing  his  craft,  he  grew  as  an  entertainer.  With the  eminent  breakup  of  the  group,  he  began  to  prepare  himself  for  a  career  on  his  own.  He then  worked  with  the  group  " Title  Trak "  for  a  year  continuing  to  develop.

 

 

     In 1991, Joe  began  performing  on  his  own  as  a  solo  entertainer with  his   signature  "ONE  MAN  BAND ",  a  mix  of  technology  and  live  music.  He  has  performed  for  the  past  12 years  in  the Northeast  Ohio  area  in  Night  Clubs, Coffee Houses,  and  at  Private  Engagements including  Parties  and  Weddings. .  

      As a member of the Northeast Ohio Songwriters Circle in the late 90’s his song Judgement Day was included on a complilation CD entitled “Circle One”.

      Joe then went on to a  project  including longtime friends Al Berdyz on drums, Dave Holmberg on keys, and Pete Pomenareko on bass completing “Blue Light” a  Blues based and Jammin Rock  Band which performed for a 2yr. period.

     In 2003 Joe joined forces with Tim and Mark Douglas, drums and Bass respectively and Dan Skutt on rhythm guitar to form “RockGarden”, an acoustic/electric band with Rock-n-Roll, Blues and Classic Rock roots.

     Over  the  years  Joe  had  been  writing  songs  and  doing  recording  projects  out  of  his  home  studio “Blue Light Studio” developing  a  style  of his  own,  born  out of  Rock  and  Blues  and  Acoustic  music.  After  logging  over  100  songs,  Joe has taken  the  best  of  these  and  integrated  them  into  his  show. 

     Joe released  his solo album entitled  "Timelessness" in 1997, a compilation of original songs ranging from acoustic melodies , Latin rhythms ,and Electric passages.  In 2002 “12^th St Blues” and “Still in the Game” were released.  Joe is currently  performing original material from  his albums..
