The band started in 1997 with two guitarists (Mike and Brian), and a bassist/lead singer (Derek) as an alternative band named KrackerJak. They lost one of the guitarists (Brian), and Derek found a drummer (Doug). The band changed the name to Krackup and decided to go for a more punk rock playing style. After writing some songs, they were offered a gig at the Springdale boat dock party and played the gig (which was their only one) on Saturday, August 28, 1999. After that they released a live 4 song EP from the gig called "Rocks the Docks". It was available until the band realized the crappiness of the recording and ended production. Next they started writing new songs and prepared to record a demo and enter a Battle of the Bands show. Suddenly Mike quit the band before the show and Krackup tried to go on without him. Mike was with Krackup ever since it started back in 97' and was greatly missed. Derek and Doug realized that Krackup would never be the same without Mike and ended the band.
