Let me start of by saying that this is a classic punk album from a classic (but short lived) punk band. To point out how famous these guys are, I would have to point out that they are considered by some to be the creators of ska/punk and that members from Operation Ivy have gone on to be in Rancid and Homegrown. Their instrumental is simple melodic punk, with frequent ska guitar here and there. The vocals are shouted or sung out earnestly and in great harmony with their music. Together their music is very energetic and serious, blending ska guitar, great vocals, and punk beliefs. Favorite songs: all of them. Anyone that is a fan of todays punk, ska, or both needs to buy this album. I give it a 10+.
I guess I should start off by saying that this album is going to be almost impossible for you to find, considering that its a cheap, out of print recording of Operation Ivy's last show. This album only has one song that you can't find on energy, but for diehard fans the price ($25) is well worth it. The recording is pretty bad on this album, and really just doesn't seem loud enough. But for all this album's downfalls it ends great with Operation Ivy playing "Unity" as their last song ever. I can only recommend this album to diehard Opiv fans, if you're a diehard Opiv fan and want this album the best suggestion I can give you is to try the import of used section of your local record store. I give it a 6.
