A beautiful summer night, massive
amounts of weed and way too much beer
would make this a night to remember,
oh maybe having
TICKETS to go see SEBASTIAN
BACH would help. (to find out keep fuckin'
reading.)
cincy, ohio...not a place i visit
often, but when sebastian bach comes to
town, bet your high dollar ass
i'm their. i arrive at annies at around 8:30
p.m. with a buzz and tons of
friends. i was sure we were gonna miss
sebastian(does weed and beer
make anyone else paranoid besides me?) but hey
guess what, we didn't! we didn't
even miss the opening band (kinda wish we
would have though!). after
about a half hour set odd man out was done and
tearing down their stage(YES!)
we were close, but it would still be awhile
b4 we got to see DA MAIN MOTHER
FUCKER HIMSELF. i make my way out back to
see jimmy-minus wings, he's
got a blonde and a red head by his side, and at
this time right now i'd like
to say I REALLY LOOK UP TO HIM.
i almost went over and said
hey, but i got the impression he was gonna pull
of the mack daddy plan, so i
opted not too. he walks by and i say KICK OUR
ASS TONIGHT! he looks at me
and says "o.k.".
mellow guy, that jimmy.
it's like 9:30, i hear dolphin(he's a d.j. for
ohios best raido station webn.)
he's saying it's almost time, and just hold
on. i make my way to the
pit, only half full now, so i was about five feet
from the stage. a huge
screen comes down and starts playing old metal
videos(maiden, crue, ryche).
THE LIGHTS DIM, THE OPENING CHORDS TO 'SLAVE
TO THE GRIND' ARE BOOMING, MY
HEART IS POUNDING, i was their, total orgasm!
bas comes fucking rolling out
like a marathon runner on crack, whippin his
mic over his head and banging
his head so fast, i wondered if the booze was
getting to me. oh man this was
gonna be fun. right off the bat the sound was
awesome, the band looked great,
and bas was rippin it the FUCK
up. a few songs go on, we made eye contact
so i stuck my tounge out at
him and he smiled. after a few tunes, they
busted into IN A DARKENED ROOM,
which by the way is hands down my fave skid
song ever.
it was great, having never heared
skid row play it live, this was a treat.
jimmy and richie really do old
skid tunes justice. o.k. it's time for
sleep(the last hard men song)
having heared it at bas' crib, i was already
familiar with it, and really
liked it. SMASHING JOB!
fast foward------> the most
powerful man in the world(another last hard men
song) was really awesome, and
allowed a real clean vocal from sebastian,
best of the night, in my opinion.
to my suprise i remember you was in the
mix, totally awesome! at times
you could hardly hear bas sing because the
crowd was singing so loud.
bas was wearing a mighty wide smile! o.k., it's
time for jeff buckley's eternal
life of the grace album, it was very, very
cool. o.k. i'm gonna
cut to the chase, YOUTH GONE WILD, ha ha, yes! even
though i knew this was the last
song, it didn't matter, it's always awesome
to witness sebastian do this
tune. and in case you didn't know (which i'm
sure you did, RIGHT?!!?) it
ruled. o.k., everyones sweatin', drained from
jumping up and down, the big
lights come on and sebastian introduces the
band, says thank you, drops
bam bams shorts(yes ladies his pecker was
showin!) and grabs the mic and
says "now thats enertainment!!". a truly
awesome show, with a truly AWESOME
band made this night,
well....................REALLY
HARD TO FORGET!
