I saw Skid Row 5x from 89-92 absolutely loved them!!! Well, I
had no idea Baz
was touring solo until I took a trip to see a friend in Indiana last
May. We
went to a club and here's this poster stating that Baz was playing
there...unfortunately I was 3 days too late. So now I am on the
lookout for
Baz!! I find the websites and see a listing for a picnicground
about a 1/2 hr
from home. Yes, a picnic ground. Well about 2wks before
the show I check the
site and that tour date is gone/cancelled. So now I'm bummed!
Sitting at a
local bar a few days later I'm mentioning this dissapointment to a
friend..when the bartender interrupts me and says no wait I saw an
ad in the
paper. Hands me this local bar newspaper and there it is a full
page ad
stating that it's Teddy Dugan's annual summerfest: beer, food, fun
and games
for the whole family $25 featuring none other then SEBASTIAN BACH!!
Well this
sounds really weird so I call and speak to Teddy Dugan---he
swears/promises/vows that this is really THE Sebastian Bach and that
he will
really be there. So I'm going!!!! The morning of the show
my bestfriend
calls leaving me a message that she really doesn't wanna go and hopes
I don't
have my heart set on it!! Well we all know I did...so close to
tears I call
begging for her to please go...she gives in!
We get there and it really was like
a beef and beer! It seems these
people have this festival every year w/local bands so most everyone
knew each
other...but Teddy the promotor is a huge Baz fan and contacted him
and he
agreed to headline this Keg party!!!(which I think is awesome of Baz
to do...I
met Teddy and he's a fan just like us...except w/the money to pay Baz
to play
his annual show--lol). So the day was kind of long and all they
had besides
beer to drink was birch beer...but we were waiting for only one band---I
could
tolerate anything even 6hrs of Birch Beer!!!
No problem
standing upfront(as most people were sitting at picnic
tables)all of us die-hards had to stand--picnicgrounds or not---so
there was
probably about 5 or 6 rows of smushed fans standing up front.
Stage was
basically ground level just a step up so this was about as up close
and
personal as it gets!!! Well what can I say...the show was incredible...the
new band sounded tight...set list was awesome...and Baz well he's still
the
same magnetic, intense, charismatic, singer I have ever witnessed.
Six years
after I'd been in the front row at the Spectrum Headlining gig w/Pantera
opening, squashed between thousands of screaming fans, I was still
as blown
away standing in a campground with a hundred or so people! Baz
seemed to be
having technical problems throughout the night but thats only to be
expected
at a small outdoor gig...but even so he kept right on going...song
after
incredible song...It definitely ended too quickly...(for aftershow
story see
the my dream came true page )and that was the last show before Japan...so
now
that I had a taste and wanted more...the next shows were definitely
to far to
travel :<(
Can't wait to see Sebastian and Friends Again!!
