Collective Soul has finished touring and will be taking some time off. A new tour is supposed to be scheduled for this spring. There has been talk of recording 10 track rock album while on break. Keep checking back for details.

Also on the 7th Collective Soul is teaming up with Mindspring Enterprises and Trans World Entertainment for a limited edition CD-ROM and a party. The CD will include the tracks "Crown" and "Disciplined Breakdown" and a live video of "Heavy" from their performance on Hard Rock Live. For those who can not be at the party you can still get the FREE CD by calling toll-free #1-888-MSPRING or pick up a copy at a number of Trans World Entertainment stores.

Sunday, November 7th Will and Shane will be playing in a celebrity softball game sponsared by 99x for Muscular Dystrophy (MD). The game will be held at Georgia Tech and you can purchase tickets for $10.00 @ Ticketmaster. Check out 99X for more details.

Collective Soul's HBO REVERB date has been changed to Tuesday November 9th so don't forget to set your VCR's for a spectacular performance.

Looks like Collective Soul will be on HBO's REVERB on Tuesday November 16th at 12:30 EST.

Two new GREAT concert reviews up in the Collective Soul Encounters section from Amber who saw them at York College and Gillian who saw them in Maine.

Atlantic was wrong. The band played Tremble For My Beloved on Leno and they did an amazing job!!! Too bad they couldn't give the band a little time to talk at the end. Don't for get the webcast tonight!!!

Fans of Collective Soul will want to stay inside this weekend. On Friday (9/17) the Georgia-based quintet will be performing "Needs" off their newest album Dosage on NBC's "Tonight Show With Jay Leno." Don't even go out for dinner, as that same evening VH1 is airing a Collective Soul's performance on "Hard Rock Live" at 6PM.

The next night (Saturday 9/18) Collective Soul wrap up a six week summer tour with The Cranberries at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in San Fransisco. Opening up will be Pound, and each band's performance will be webcast via Yahoo at the start time of 11pm ET / 8pm PT.

Also coming in the next couple of days some great live shots I took at the St. Paul show on September 7th. A review is coming, but I'm still in the process of finishing it up.

The episode of VH1's Hard Rock Live featuring CS (and Edwin McCain and Shawn Mullins) will air on Saturday, September 11th at midnight Eastern, and then be rerun on September 17th 12:30am EST and 6pm EST and on September 22 at 2:30am EST. The HBO REVERB show is still an unconfirmed date, but is said to air sometime next month.

More Collective Soul on the TV. "Needs" will be featured on the WB TV series "Charmed" in the second week of October." Also "Run" has been the music playing in the background for the previews for the new fall series "Wasteland."

"Tremble For My Beloved" along with "Needs" will be the bands next single so get ready to call your local radio stations and start requesting!!!

Don't forget to set your VCR's for the month of September. We'll be getting a MEGA dose of Collective Soul on the tube throughout that month with a performance on VH1's Hard Rock Live on September 11, another Jay Leno performance September 17, and a performance on HBO's REVERB still an uncomfirmed date.

"Needs" will be the next single off of Dosage and the band will be filming a video for the song!!!

The appearance of Collective Soul on Rockline scheduled for August 16 has been canceled.

Tune in to FOX, Tuesday August 3 at 8 PM EST and set your VCR's for a 2 hour special of some of the bands that played at Woodstock '99. Not sure if Collective Soul will be on it, but lets hope they are.

Collective Soul is back on for Woodstock '99!!! Also tune into Regis and Kathie Lee on Monday July 26 to catch Ed Roland doing an acoustic version on "Needs."

Collective Soul has pulled out of the Woodstock '99 line-up scheduled for July 23-25. Don't worry, the band is perfectly fine. Not clear on the reason why they pulled out of it, but will post more details when I get them.

Tune into MTV News 1515 this weekend because they will be doing a segment on Woodstock '99 and also go back to the one in '94. No guarantees that Collective Soul will be featured, but lets hope they are. 1515 airs tonight for the first time at 7:30 PM EST. It will reair throughout the weekend so check your local listings.

Collective Soul are finally coming to the city of Sioux Falls. I am so excited. They are going to be the first rock at act to play in the venue they are scheduled to perform at, the Washington Pavilion. They made front page of he Argus Leader today and they are all over the radio. The band and the fans that attend the show are said to make history in Sioux Falls. "No More No Less" is expected to be released on May 25 as the next single. It is already be played in some city's.

Ed Roland has shown his generousity yet again. He, along with other artists such as Marvelous 3,Tony Rich and many more are set to record the song "Together We Can" to help out with the tragedy in Littleton, CO. Don't forget to watch the guys on the season finale of Beverly Hills 90210 on May 19. The Reverb Special on HBO is set to air sometime in September.

Another Woodstock performance is in store for Collective Soul. The 30th Anniversary takes place on July 23-25 in Rome, New York. Other rock acts scheduled to perform are The Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morissette, Aerosmith, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Live, and Metallica. Tickets go on sale on April 25 for $150.00.

Collective Soul are featured in a few issues of different guitar magazines. They are in the April 1999 Issue of Guitar World, May 1999 Issue of Guitar Magazine, and the May 1999 Issue of Guitar One. Also Will was featured in the April 1999 Issue of Bass Player Magazine and is said to be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine. Keep your eyes open for it.

Collective Soul's performance on the Rosie O'donnell Show aired on April 2 and the band played Run. They also donated a signed guitar to Rosie for her Ebay. com charity.

Dosage has been certified GOLD in the United States, selling 500,000 copies. Meanwhile Dosage is at #67 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart and Heavy is at # 1 on the Rock/Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart and #7 on the Modern Rock Tracks Chart.

Collective Soul was scheduled to be on the Rosie O'Donnell show on March 31st, but were unable to because one member was sick. According to someone at the show Collective Soul came out after the show was over and performed a song and that performance was taped and will be aired on a different day.

The Collective Soul Fancast on Wednesday March 31st has been postponed. No new date has been set for the fancast.

The next single from Collective Soul is said to be "No More No Less." No date has been set for the release of the new single.

Congratulations to Collective Soul, whose smash single "Heavy" has set a new record for the number of times a single was played on radio in one week. Collective Soul's eighth #1 rock radio hit, "Heavy" was played 6,057 times last week!! That staggering number beat out the previous record of 6,027 set by Metallica earlier this year. Collective Soul and Metallica are the only artists to ever cross the 6,000 plays threshold in rock radio. Meanwhile, "Run," which is featured on the soundtrack to "Varsity Blues" -- and, like "Heavy," on the Georgia quintet's new album, "DOSAGE" -- remains firmly stationed in the Modern AC, Adult Top 40, Pop Radio charts. Don't miss Collective Soul performing "Heavy" on "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on Friday, April 2nd.

Collective Soul are in the middle of a major North American tour in support of "DOSAGE." The tour currently finds them in Canada, where they'll be playing through March 27th, at which point they will begin an extensive leg of U.S. dates. Fan Club News! I'm heading to Winnipeg to see Collective Soul on March 14 and I will be bringing along all the fan club letters I have received over the last year and will hopefully get a chance to talk to the band and give them the letters. Collective Soul could tie Metallica for the most #1 hits. If "Heavy" makes it to the top of the charts, it will be Collective Soul's 7th #1 single, tying the band with Metallica for the record of #1 hits on the Rock Charts.

Collective Soul appeared at the Varsity Blues Premiere Party on MTV. Ed, Dean, and Will were there and as Will said Shane and Ross were there in spirit. They talked about the movie and how Run was picked for the movie. If you weren't able to catch it should be on again very soon.

Looks like February 9th, 1999 is going to be the release date for Dosage. Start counting the days down!!!

"Run" is the latest single from Collective Soul and is also the first single off the movie soundtrack Varsity Blues starring Dawson's Creek, James Van Der Beek and oscar winner John Voight. The movie is due out in theatres on January 15, 1999 and the soundtrack on January 12. The soundtrack will also include songs from Caroline Spine, Days of the New, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Monster Magnet, Third Eye Blind and more. Click Here for more details.

On December 16 the video for"Run" premiered on MTV's Total Request Live. It is also been on 120 Minutes and VH1. The song has been on some radio stations starting it's debut on Atlanta's 99x. "Run" will be on the new album Dosage and the soundtrack Varsity Blues.
