In sad new, Ric, the drummer of The Derelicts, passed away recently. He was hanging out with his brother drinking beer on
the train tracks but unfortunately didn't jump quick enough. "Ric was a great guy with a warm heart. Cheers to him and the great company he was to us all." - Robb Clarke
Ian is currently working with a new
band but I don't know the name yet. More info as it comes in.
Duyane Derelict is still fronting the Denver based SUPERBUICK and will be opening for Mudhoney in Boulder, Co. sometime in April.
Neil just bought a new guitar, an old Gibson Explorer with the natural wood finish. I hear
he wears it well. Duyane is fronting a band called SUPERBUICK in Denver. They're fucking fantastic. A little slower tempo than the Derelicts, but just as snotty and hostile. Personally I think Duyane sounds better than ever before. That man has some pipes. And in other Derelicts news: The band sold one of their songs, "Wash" (the Sub-Pop single), to the FOX televison series called "Soldier of Fortune". The entire song was tastfully used as the background music in a futuristic battle scene. I understand they were compensated quite well. Hooray for B-Show soundtracks! I must say, they couldn't have chosen a finer musical score than that particular cut. See, punk rock pays!
