*** ghost story! (after asking the crowd ti choose between dance of the seven veils and go on ahead) Liz told her baseball ghost story and it was hilarious, as usual... at the end she said, "to this day i'm convinced it was a ghost. He lost the game and now he just roams the earth." the students had chosen go on ahead, i was disappointed but she did "dance" later...

mt holyoke was pretty, the drive away from boston was so refreshing, moving from concrete jungle into the bright green trees, blue cliff of rock, and pink and purple sky.
the students were really cool.
i talked to buddy for a few minutes after the show and then had a great conversation with janet... i was like "i missed you at the lounge ax - actually, you missed me on stage with liz.." and she was like, "that was YOU? that is so funny, i heard all about it..." and then i said "nicole was going to come tonight" and she asked why didn't she?, etc.... the rest i will have to tell you on the phone nicole... ;)
i agree with charles that we will hear "don't apoligize" on the radio some day... it was fast rock - firwalker was slightly more mellow.
i like the three new tunes in this order:
1. conversation...
2. don't appoligize
3. firewalker
but they are all excellent.

When i posted about mt. holyoke i forgot a few things, including the most interesting part of my conversation with Janet... i asked her how the band was enjoying the college tour and she said "it's great, we love it." then i asked, "would you rather be here (waving my arm) in an auditorium, or at, say, Avalon in Boston?" and Janet said "hmmm, I loved Avalon... I guess it doesn't really matter. In both [situations] the fans are really supportive." it is good to know that the whole band is invested in the fans and not just Liz... Janet and Buddy have always been really cool to me, even though i am obviously lurking around to see Liz.
I really liked being there by myself, the guys i went with needed to be near the soundboard so i stayed up front and kinda rested my forearms on the stage the whole time, it felt good to be alone, watching Liz rock. i was so far left that she never saw me, i'm sure she would recognize me, but she definitly doesn't know my name or anything. i also noticed how close she and buddy have become on stage, she is always turning to him to discuss things and they play off one another so well.
anyway, i hope you all like the lyrics to firewalker, the refrain is inspirational in the happy-happy-joy-joy kinda way. [[[ Anyone else think that parts of friewalker sound suspiciously like Blood Keeper?]]] Don't Apoligize is also really upbeat and really *fast*, all i have from that is:
hey hey hey
don't even think about it
hey hey hey
don't apoligize

my hopes are like ambers lying around
inside a firebed
and
your mind is a firewalker
it steps on them like
they are dead
but
I can grow
'cause life is all we know
you might not recognize me tomorrow
yes I can change
this life already strange
you find that something's changed
and beautiful
like joy
like joy [really high note]
??? ??? like a wild flame
that catches on the ??? ???
but
your mind is a firewalker
it sets its courseand never ends
but I can grow
this life is all we know
you might not recognize me tomorrow
and I can change
this life already strange
and find something's changed
and beautiful
like joy
like joy
*** kick ass keyboard solo ***
take offers from every side
and give my attentions about anywhere
well
do I recognize my actions?
I look like I'm so unaware
but
I DON'T CARE
I can grow
'cause life is all we know
you might not recognize me tomorrow
yes I can change
this life already strange
you find something's changed and beautiful

I just read my first message from the list, and I feel like I'm among friends....... Saw last Friday's show at Mt. Holyoke. She sounded great, looked great, and I can't wait to get copies of the new songs...... anyone else going to all 3 MA and RI shows next weekend?
See ya,
**Justin
On a Liz note, saw her last week in Holyoke! Great as usual
although I couldn't fathom the audiences picking Go On Ahead by a wide margin over Dance of the 7 Veils. But she ended up playing both. Got tickets to WPI(or reserved) for Saturday. When I called about Wellesley I was told they don't reserve tickets nor can you charge on the phone? I almost sent out an SOS to our Massachussetts friends. My friend at work said he would drive up there from work(Hartford) if I got him stoned. Fair deal. So we blew off the rest of the day and turned what should have been 3, 31/2 hours into a 6 hour trip. And after this weekend it will be my 8th time seeing her. Yes I'm definitly sick, but I thought you would understand. I would have gone to Providence too, but I didn't want to get too far ahead of Ruthie while she was out of the country.
