Brian's story

first of all, i would like to thank katie for helping all of us get the word out on the "greatness of liz". now my review:

the whole night of march 14, 1999 was, for a lack of a better word, AMAZING! the whole night started off by waiting in line in front of lounge ax for 4 hours with a few friends in chilly temps. the wait was made bearable by chatting with a few people from the list. i finally met jase - the head listee and i also met jill and her friends. let me just say that they are the most generous people i had ever stood in line with for a show. while waiting in line, the constantly offered doritos, snickers, or other snacks to me and my friends. i didn't actually take anything, but my friend's were shameless in doing so.:) they definitely thank you but don't expect anything in return! :) they're broke! :)

the highlight of the night has to be the mailing list's very own katie brown singing with liz during the song "flower". liz said that she'd only sing the song if someone would come up onstage with her to sing the backup parts. liz then pointed out katie from the crowd. instantly, katie had a look of disbelief and, i hate to say it - sickness :) . so, there they were, liz & katie singing, "every time i see your face...". everything went great until the part when katie was supposed to keep singing the background lyrics. she said, "screw it" to herself and proceeded to sing the verses with liz. i don't think liz minded much though. it added a little humor to the whole experience - especially when katie stole a line from the girlysounds version of the song and sang, "f*ck you and your GIRLFRIEND TOO!" very good call on her choice of words.

in addition to "flower", liz performed (off the top of my head), supernova, 6'1, glory, dance of the 7 veils, never said, explain it to me, mesmerizing, fuck and run, divorce song, perfect world, j. feelgood, p. bride, go on ahead, girls' room and a new song entitled "conversation between two bouncers" or something to that extent. if i had left anything out, i apologize.

the whole show lasted approx. an hour and 5 minutes. the whole night was great because it had such an amazing intimate feel to it. the only people on stage were liz and buddy (the guitarist from the tour).

As you could tell by all of the reviews of this show, it was truly an amazing experience for any liz fan to endure.
