Jorge's story

My story entitled "The Letter" has all the ingredients of a good movie.

When I heard about the Lounge Ax show, I made arrangements for two different friends to get tickets. Of course, they got shut out. Then, I read Craig's post about how he got tickets after the show was sold out. That inspired me to act. I wrote a letter that won over Susan and Julia, owners of Lounge Ax. They are the coolest. Anyway, Hollywood has called. They want to do a feature film. The cast includes Gary Oldman as Jorge, Parker Posey as Katie Brown, Nicolas Cage as Craig, Christopher Guest as Jason, Meg Ryan as Janet and Bridget Fonda as Jill. Not a bad cast, huh? Look for "The Letter" in movie theaters this Christmas!!!

Spaceeggy Katie did such a great job orchestrating this Lounge Ax tribute, Hollywood is talking to her about directing "The Letter." I think seeing director Spaceeggy Katie in the credits would help sell a lot of tickets in Florida.

Here's Jorge's actual letter (which is being reviewed by a script doctor in Hollywood as we speak).

Hi Susan,

I'm Jorge Cooper from Dallas, Texas. Do you remember what it felt like when you found out there was no Santa Claus? That's how I felt last Thursday when the Liz Phair show sold out. Liz is my favorite.

I got your name form the Lounge Ax recording. By the way, you have a nice voice. Now, allow me to beg+++.Here are the Top 10 reasons why you should sell me 2 Liz tickets.

1. I've been trying to see Liz in a club since '94. I saw her at Lilith Fair, here in Dallas, but she only had 30 minutes. Seeing her in Chicago would be a dream come true. Liz cancelled her Nov. Dallas show which only adds gasoline to my frustration.

2. I tried really hard to get tickets at the Lounge Ax. To be safe, I sent two separate friends on the mission. But they both struck out even though they went early as I instructed. They are Nathaniel and Chad (Note: here I provided the phone numbers of my two friends in case she wanted to call).

3. I work as a customer service trainer for a paging co. called PageMart Wireless. I told my boss about seeing Liz in Chicago and she gave me a free airline ticket she had earned. So, I have a free airline ticket but no Liz ticket. Are you starting to feel my pain?

4. I come from the old school of thinking that is depicted in The Godfather. If you do a service for me, I do a service for you. So, I can get you a GREAT deal on a pager, as in free.

5. If a pager does not entice you, I have included a copy of "There's Something About Mary" to make you laugh. My reasoning is after watching the movie, you will be in a good mood and will feel generous. Do you see how my twisted mind works? If "Mary" is not your kind of movie, I'm sure one of you co-workers would enjoy it. I'm also including a Blockbuster gift card which you can use for several movie rentals. Now, I bet you're thinking, "This guy's crazy!!" That would be correct.

6. This Chicago Liz show is special because I have several "Internet Liz friends" going to the show. This is the first time we would actually meet in person. These friends have tickets and are coming from as far as Boston and Canada. I'm the guy not going to the prom.

7. If you're ever in Dallas, I would surely buy you dinner and show you the city.

8 I had a very cool girlfriend named Susan and I thought it was a sign. (This one might be a reach but I'm a desperate man).

9. I haven't been to Chicago since I was 12. I'm 37 now and I've been wanting to go and now is a good time because+.

10. My 38th birthday is March 24 and this would be an incredible present. I have no wife, no girlfriend, no kids. I don't even have a dog or cat. (This is called the sympathy approach). Music is basically my life. Going to this show would be like going to the Super Bowl or World Series!!!

As part of my training in customer service, I teach positive thinking. So, I included the money and return letter. If this isn't possible, I understand. I just wanted to try. Just remember, you could make me the happiest person in America.

Thank you very much,

Jorge Cooper

P. S. If this doesn't work, I'm going to resort to writing you a poem.

Note: Here I provided the names and numbers of 5 friends so she could see that I was for real.
