I just got back from seeing liz play at millersville, she was fantastic, just like she always is. The poor opening band....well they just sucked. Liz saved the night though............she's so fuckin' cool.................that's all.

David's review

hi,

I saw liz tonight. very good, Exile in Guyville material was very intense. Mezmorising caught me off guard, i wasn't expecting it to be that good. Tad(i think that was your name i met you after the show) will probably tell lots of details, he seems like he enjoys to do that, so i will let him. If anyone has any dying curiosity about what her and i talked about after the show i guess you can send me an internet email, but someone probably overheard and will write anyway.

I just got back from the Millersville show and, as a previous poster had mentioned, the opening band *was* pretty bad. Then again, I wouldn't want to be opening for Liz. You're just *guaranteed* to look bad incomparison.

I'm still not at all sure how Liz ended up playing Millersville, of all places, but I feel *deeply* thankful that I was able to attend!! There were fewer than 400 people in the gym, and the sound was really phenomenal. Most people were literally standing within fifteen or twenty feet of Liz - being fairly tall, I got a *great* view. The feeling was really intimate. I have a hard time believing the show was as good asit was!!

It probably sounds sort of corny, but I have to say that Liz seems to grow more beautiful every time I see her - and I have to say that her see-through top was more than a little bit distracting (not that I'm complaining, of course). I'd like to believe that we made eye contact, but that seems a bit much to ask! I can't get over how tiny Liz is when you see her up close. I can't imagine how she managed to give birth to an 8+ pound baby, much less how she can look so damned amazing now...

Incidentally, Janet was looking pretty exceptional, as well.

The band was *really* tight, and Liz appeared to be extremely comfortable and happy. I can't remember the exact set list off the top of my head, but it *very* closely resembled the set lists posted within the past few days - with the notable substitution of Dance of the Seven Veils. The remainder of the songs favored EIG, then WCSE and then only a few off of Whipsmart (Cinco de Mayo and Supernova). There was a brief period where folks were shouting out songs (including Blood Keeper, natch! ). Someone called for Dead Shark, as well as Batmobile. Liz laughed and pointed out that the band didn't know how to play a lot of the more obscure stuff, but launched into a miniature rendition of South Dakota just for kicks.

She played two new songs - Firewalker and Don't Apologize. I personally liked 'em both (shocker), but Don't Apologize seems like it might be a likely candidate for a single once the new record comes out - it had the right kind of structure and beat to possibly get some airplay.

I'm going to be seeing Liz again both at the 930 club this coming Tuesday in DC, and at Bohager's in Baltimore the Tuesday after that. I'd be ecstatic if these two dates were even *half* as wonderful. I suspect the 930 club will be packed (I *may* have a couple of extra tickets, if anyone is really hard up), but Bohager's tends not to get that busy - so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Take care, Liz-lovers!

i was there too. man, she is dreamy. didn't hear everything i wanted but the other posters were right, she was great as usual. it's hard to believe this person ever had a problem w/ stage fright- she comes across as so warm and confident and since the crowd was small (maybe 300?) there was plenty of interaction b/t her and us. at one point she came down to shake hands and i fought my way to the stage, but sadly i was about 1 sec too late. there were several of us who were singing all the songs out loud and she would notice and make eye contact and smile and a little narcotic glow would wash over my whole body. nonetheless, i tried not too swoon too much since i am a h.s. teacher and two of my students(!) were in attendance. can't wait for d.c. (got my tickets), and heard news of a baltimore show on 5/4 and i'm BEGGING someone from the list to post some details on where it is and maybe a # to order tickets before it's too late- maybe it already is.

Hey SS

This show rocked! The band was as tight as they could be.The setlist was the same as it has been for the prior shows.
The new songs: "Firewalker" and "Don't Argue" were fabulous.

Liz announced to the crowd of maybe 500 that it had taken her 12 hours to get to this show as she was stuck in the airport in Grand Rapids for eight hours. She seemed healthy and happy though.
She wore black cargo pants,a pink see through tank top with white straps and no bra.
Her shoes were Nike's(no sox). The back of her sneaks were pushed down by the heels of her feet for the entire show.
She looked really good!
We were the second set of people in line since six PM to get into the general adm show. We were leaning on the baricade directly in front of Liz. Life doesn't get much better than this!!

After the show I was tlaking to her new bass player and he told me that he was pretty sure that Liz was flying home after each show while the others were taking the bus.
I asked him how she felt about seeing people after the show and he said she wasn't crazy about it.
She did come out after about half an hour and signed autographs and posed for some pics. There were maybe 25 people waiting.
I was able to get a signed setlist, a backstage pass and a few pics. She played seventeen songs and lasted for about an hour and fifteen minutes.

The new drummer kicks. I really liked the previous one but the new guy is definitely superior.
The new bass player is the nicest guy.
