Okay my friend was supposed to drive me to this show. She doesnt' know Liz, and she was abeing a real bitch on the phone when I was trying to tell her what time to pick me up, and she was saying mean things about me, so i said fuck it, i'll get there myself. So I had to jet out of my room and take the subway to the bus station, and take a greyhound. But anything for Liz, right? So I made it there...
When I got there, about 15 min. before the proposed door time, there were only like 20 or 30 people waiting. When I got in, I had to pee, and I was afraid people would have filled up the first row by the stage (standing... not seated like wellesley) but I actually got the second best spot in the place, which might be the first best, because Liz doesn't tend to look straight down. I was to the left of center. I mean exactly to the left, not like 8 people or anything.
Since we alwasy talk about what Liz wears, she was wearign grey capri pants, black tube top, and white pleathery jacket. She was wearing these amazing platform sandals. The platforms were like blue vinyley looking... and the straps were too cool and I can't explain them. Her hair was all messy and punkish, and she was adorable. Oh she took the jacket off like during the first song.

The place was pretty quiet as far as teh crowd goes, so alot of the show wwas spent with me exchanging dialogue with Liz. Some highlights:
When she first came out, I wanted to make sure she would play 7 veils tonight because she didnt' last night, so I go "ARE YOU PLAYING 7 VEILS TONIGHT?" And she nodded.
Oh by the way, I had lost my voice the night before, but somehow gained the pwer to yell and sing. Hmm.
I decided the song i'd yell for tnight was "Stuck on an Island." I yelled for it and Liz goes "Sometimes people ask for songs that I've forgotten how to play, but I'm really tempted to try that one." !!!! I was really excited! I was like "DO IT!" And she nodded or somethign, or maybe she said something. Don't remember.
I yelled for that several times, and once she was like "i'm trying to figure that out in my head." And I was goin' nuts! not really. But inside. And anotehr time she actually started fingering the chords, and i was like "YEAH YEAH!" And she smiled.
Now one time I felt really bad... because the sparse crowd was obviously mostly non-Liz fans, and they were yelling for Poly Bride. WelL i wanted to see what would happen if she didn't play it, so i go "I DARE YOU NOT TO PLAY POLYESTER BRIDE!" and she looked a bit upset and she was like "I don't know what to say to that. Well I'm playing it after this song."
And after that song, I was like "I DIDN'T MEAN THAT DARE IN A MEAN WAY, I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN." and she was like "okaaay..." And then went into a decidedly extra rocking version of Polyester Bride. Even *I* was impressed, and I smiled at LIz alot and I know this is one of those things that everyone thinks, but I *know* she looked at me quite a few times during the show. Hell, there were only a handful of actual fans in the crowd, and I was up front, so of course she would catch my eye a couple times... Maybe? I sound like i'm gloating, but i'm not.
Anyway, anotehr highlight was "Divorce Song." In the end, the instrumental part, everyone sped up on their instruments til it was super fast. It was awesome!
Uhh... more stuff as I remember it. I mean of course the show was awesome, much better than wellesley, IMHO, but to give a song by song review would be redundant, because it's Liz, she rocks, what more can I say?
At the end of the show, Liz threw out picks and she tried tossing one to me... she looked straight at me, okay? but I can't catch so I didn't get one, but that's okay, i have two already.
I was getting a ride home with some guy who isn't on this list named Ken... so I couldn't wait around to say bye to janet or to try and meet liz. This Ken guy was with his wife and they were doing me a favor, and I didn't want to make them wait around. They wree the types who go to bed real early, too.

Oh... and Liz broke her strings during... Don't Apologize, so Kevin (hi kevin... I know you're out there...) had to fix 'em for her, and she was like "this is kevin blah blah blah" i forget what she said, and the audience cheered for him, and she was like "no one ever yells for the guitar tech" or something. Then every time Kevin came out I'd yell for him. He's a nice guy anyway... even though he has something against "internet people."
But I know he's one too... just not actively.
Anyway... I think both new songs rock... Firewalker is more catchy.
Again, later...
