Welcome everyone to the Official BigHead Lovers homepage. We are a group of friends that decided, what the hell, let's play some music. So, that pretty much covers our history.
As to the origin of our name. A girl, who will go by the name of Erin, happened to have a head that blocked the view of our drummer, Jason Collingwood, and our bassist, Nathan Kagey. Because the blockage was there, she was named Big Head. Well, as we cycled through names for a band (AKA 47 was a prospective), we figured, this was our best option, and thus, the name was spawned.
Well, the band originally consisted of Kenny Nisbet on lead guitar, Nathan Kagey on bass, and Jason Collingwood on drums. Well, after the end of 8th grade, Kenny moved to California, so unfortunately, he cannot play in the band anymore. Also over the summer, Nathan's parents sent him to a boarding school in Western Samoa for a year, so did not join us until late summer of last year. During the summer, while the adjustments were going on, there were some new additions. Chris Chong joined up as our lead guitarist. Then we figured that we should get a rhythm guitarist, so we thought and thought until we came up with Alex Landers. He kind of forced his way into the band as a rhythm guitar player like a sperm into an egg. His entrance into the band had a minimal impact. After that summer, everyone kind of adjusted to life. It was not until the summer next that we would once again see Nathan. His triumphant return was a joy to all of us. The band was once again hoping to get going. But, since we were all too preoccupied with other things, it never happened. Nathan and Alex recorded a couple songs for their true loves, but that is the closest BHL has ever come to making a record. That item is available through Megan Cobb or Missy Jackson. Good luck getting your hands on it. After our incredibly sweet move, Nathan's parents pulled another fast one on us. Nathan was shipped off to the Utah Boys Ranch near Provo, Utah. He return date is pretty cloudy, so who knows what the future holds. Oh yeah, Kenny is a hot surfer now. Let's review, shall we? Original members: Nathan, Jason, Kenny. Over first summer, Kenny move --> California. Nathan forced to Western Samoa. Chris Chong joins band. Alex Landers joins band. Chong too busy with record company, booted. Nathan and Alex record a 2 song album for their girls. Summer #2 --> Nathan gone again to Utah indefinetly. Any questions? I didn't think so.
As for this page, we hope to have some recordings of ourselves, tour dates (if we ever have any), and some other neat things. Well, that is our band, and we hope you visit often, and sign the guestbook if you haven't already.
