Hi my name is Corrie McDermott. I'm a 19 year old female. I'm a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts: Dartmouth. (an hour south of boston and 40 minutes from providence, RI) But I live in Westport, MA which is 5 minutes down the road. I'm majoring in Illustration and Computer animation and possible will minor in music if i can find the time. I'll only list my two favorite musicians seeing that i listen to so many! But the two people who have inspired me more then anyone else in the world, music wise, are Duncan Sheik and Sarah McLachlan. I've been playing keyboard for about 10 years now (self-taught) and I'm also teaching myself how to play acoustic guitar. Both Duncan Sheik and Sarah McLachlan have inspired me to go and create my own music. I really enjoy listening to music that is straight from the heart- so to speak. Music that really moves you emotionally. The first thing I notice about a song is the lyrics. It's usually what draws me to a song. Then of course I look at the beat and chords etc, the instruments involved too. I really like songs with guitar (both acoustic and electric) and piano. The lyrics, beat and instruments of both musicians drew me to them right away. I also compose and write my own songs--or I try to!! LOL.and sing. I just recently became a semi finalist for writing my song "Victim". The contest was put out by the Association of Songwriters and Lyricists (ASL) in Los Angeles, CA. (Still awaiting to see if I win the grand prize BTW.) I write poems too and if they're good enough I turn them into songs sometimes. I do alot of work similar to Duncan and Sarah. Not to say that I copy them, because I don't. i just really like their work. I don't perform or anything, unless it's in front of my friends. I'm way too shy and not very confident about my music skills. I've been an artist longer then a musician.

AS for my hobbies and interests, I draw, sing, play keyboard, volleyball, softball, collect things, write poems and stories, really enjoy being in nature, especially going to the beach or going to NH to the mountains. I love animals-- I work on a farm with animals and also work with foster children. I love to travel and go on vacations, especially with my family because they are so great!! I love to horseback ride--i may get a horse next fall. I guess that's it for now. I invite anyone who's a Duncan Sheik fan to write me or fans of Sarah McLachlan too. Hello... my name is Elizabeth, or just plain Liz. I have been listening... or maybe the word is craving over and obsessing over Ducan for the past year. I not only think he's very attractive(and hot!!!) but a great musician. I wake up to him and fall asleep to his music each and everyday. But, enough about Duncan. I am in the ninth grade at Walton HS in Atlanta, Georgia and an 14 years old. I am overly obsessed w/ Chipper Jones(plays for the Braves baseball team here in the ATL) and of course, non other than the wonderful Duncan Sheik.
