Rick Clark

Bass Guitar

Rick's return to the Boilerhouse Blues Band has had a resounding effect. The traditional blues is alive and steaming in this bass guitarist from Mid-Wisconsin. Keeping the groove going through out the night is a must and keeping the " Pocket " interesting is a gift.

Rick has spent the last 18 months recording and touring North America with James Soleburg (Jim was Luther Allison's guitar player for over 30 years and had started his own band, Winning the 1998 - 1999 W.C. Handy "Blues Band of the Year" Award ).
While on the road, Rick had the opportunity to share the billing and even the stage with some of the top acts in the blues. Artist like Lonnie Brooks, Long John Hunter, Phillip Walker, W.C. Clark, Rod Piazza & the Mighty Flyers, Tinsley Ellis, Coco Montoya, Jimmy Thakery, Bernard Allison, Kinsey Brothers, Bryan Lee and countless others making and continuing the blues tradition. Playing hot bass has been part of Rick Clark's life for many years.
In the 70's, Rick belonged to the "Tongue" Band touring the United States and sharing billings with Buffe Sainte-Marie, Ravi Shankar, Luther Allison, Siegal Schwall. Paul Butterfield, Chuck Berry, The Greatful Dead, The James Gang, Alice Cooper and even jamming with the great Muddy Waters shortly before his death.

Not only has Rick been a player but also a student of the Blues. Learning to drive the band with tastful riffs can only be obtained from a life of listing and studing the greats. This four stringer is well on his way to making his own mark in the blues not only with his playing but also his personality.
