BIO 21/11/95
After three years of hard labour, it is finnaly done, the first vinyl is released . It's single, picture 7" and it has three songs : GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE/NEWS/MAROONED
It took one year of intense rehearsing, in which we put a set together, to release a first demo : "A reaction to the negative" in september 1993 . Recorded on 8-track, it drew enough attention to enable us to do about 40 gigs .
A year later, we got back in studio to record "Demo September '94", this time with Andre GIELEN (who worked with the likes of Channel Zero, Deviate, Hoax...) and on 24 tracks . The sound was a lot better, the review as well . Even though not as much as we hoped, we got to play : supporting CHANNEL ZERO, VICTIMS FAMILY, FLIPPER, DEE DEE RAMONE, BRUTAL JUICE... Internationaly, something was moving too : gigs in France and Switzerland, Bondage Radio declared interest...
The single was recorded in the Hautregard Studio's, thanks to André Gielen . The rest we did it ourselves, the Stoemp-label, pressing (2 x 600 numbered copies) and distributing (in collaboration with Rough Trade).
DEF SOUL is : Manu (guitar) and Bob (drums) ; both have played in a lot of bands, of which the last was Walpurgis Volta (the other half of that band is now Ppz 30). Further more there is Paul W.Bread (bass), who saw a great number of bands come and go, and Frank (mic), new in the business. Last but not least, there is Phil, ex-roady and now fulltime member on backings .
Our goals are to play, play and play . In order to achieve that we give maximum support to the Brussels HardCore scene and will bring out new material .
