My name is Akiyoshi Iida, and I am an International Relations Major at the School of International Studies, University of the Pacifc. I was born in Guatemala, lived there till I was 15, moved to Japan, lived there till I was 19, and finally came to the USA. I am able to speak Spanish, Japanese, and (may be) English. Though I have studied French in the past, I believe that now I know more computer language than French!
Why do I listen to heavy metal? Good question. Most people think I listen to clasical music, and they are surprized when they hear that I like heavy metal. As much as I would like to justify why I like heavy metal through the use of the lyrics of Anthrax and Testament (socio-politically related, anti-racist, pro-environmental, revolutionary, ect,) the truth is I love the sound of loud and fast guitars, fast beating drums, in your face screaming, and heavy crunching riffs!!! I do listen to other music as well, mainly Latin Jazz (Strunz and Farah/Lara and Reyes). Yet, my attraction to their music is also based on the ability of these musicians to perform complex songs and amazingly fast acoustic guitar solos.

Here are some pictures of myself:

At a party with friends and two Professors after Senior Seminar!!
Can you tell who are the 2 Professors?
Some pictures of my best friends:

This is Edhi Rotandi, the man who taught me all I know about computers.
The picture on the left is a "Before" picture of him. The one on the right (Edhi in the middle) being the "After" picture. Hey, are you going fishing??

This is Lief, the only person I could talk to about real music!! He is such a cool bassist you can see him here playing with Cliff burton and Sean Yseult. Well, or at least lets leave it at that...
By the way, Lief is not Sean Yseult (on the right), he is the man on the center.

Here we are, dancing in the middle of the road at midnight!! Amy, on the left is celebratin her birthday.

I worked (Volunteered) as a heavy metal music DJ on campus for over 3 semesters! I had a greta time giving Anthrax as much air time as I could!! And yes, I couldn't find a better picture!
