history-
syndrone was started early 1997 by travis stewart as an expiremental project with help from percussionist matt decker.  the two had already formed and maintained a group called persephones creator in which played industrial/metal/weird music.  syndrone didnt work out between the two, but travis wanted another name for his own style of music done by himself. thus he kept the name syndrone.  travis then released "music for machines", an expiremental project by himself. it was a compilation of noise basically, yet it had many musical aspects and some songs were actually beautiful!  more was released after that that was more on the ambeint weird techno side.  travis met up with ben teeter mid summer 97 and they tried to do music together, yet it didnt work out either. so travis continued to keep it solo for a really long time, working on many songs, yet never releasing until about january 98 when he released eoiPJ, a tape of songs that are made up of very simple instruments that formed beautiful chords when put together, backed by a beat.  eoiPJ was also an art compilation with abstract art by travis.  then came the soon following erg climb tape in which was heavily inspired by autechre and sand dunes (?).  each song actually reminds one of the desert, and it basically follows a story ending with a remix of "Erg Chech Climb 5"(a fave by many) by Erik Paradis of the late 1Process6.  travis compiled a tape then to send off to erik since erik and others had a label called zfynn(pronounced fin) in new hampshire.  plans with zfynn failed, and travis continued solo.  then travis decided to merge erg climb and eoipj since both tapes together made sense and he could finnally release an album onto cd.  this is what he did, and "ergclimbandeoipj" was released with two bonus tracks that did not appear on either project(three minutes after the last song is a short 15 second noise collage as well).  soon followed a 60 minute non stop improvisation tape called imp1-6.  it was very unique and was all on one take.  yet it was still divided into 6 different parts that were different in sound. travis kept quiet from there on since he was moving into a new place.  songs were still done every now and then, but they nevertheless were the best yet.  he decided to go ahead and put these songs on another actual album called "taep".  it was never finished until he moved.  he then did the songs "patience" and "amber" named after his girlfriend(aww).  thus the page for syndrone was started, sound clips were made as well with pictures and a discography.  travis then focused on getting his music out there, till he met up with ben again. the two got together one night and had a blast doing non stop improvisation into the wee hours of the morning.  syndrone had added another member, ben teeter.  ben and travis had a connection mentally while playing, it was amazing.  the two right now are trying to put together somthing for everyone, but it will be a while before anything is out. stay tuned tho.
