Our Story:

Once upon a time (Septmber '96) there was a guy named Jake. "Gee!", thought he. "It sure would be neat to play in a band!" Out came his Mom's acustic guitar. He played for a while and then he got together with Steve Alves and Steve McArthur. Lets make a band they thought, so Jake played and played until his fingers bled. "Ouch." said he. Time passed Mike Highleint briefley played in the band, more or less though, things seemed to be going nowhere. "I know!" exlaimed Jake, "We need a bass player!" After a minimal amout of whinning Jake's friend Phil took up the job. First Phil accuired his Mom's Accustic guitar and learned to play  Come as you Are by Nirvana. Before they knew it Jake and Phil where jamming away to Lithium.  Jake "borrowed" (hey, i gave 'em back eventually.... ) Steve's Dad's electric "Raven" guitar and "Sonax" amp, and Phil got a "Renegade" Bass. Little by little things were coming together.

Meanwhile, a guy named Kevin was having diffrences with his band in which he played bass - Hinje. He decided to leave and for the time being he was bandless. One day Jake said to him "Hey man, wanna Jam?"  and they did. For, like, 8 hours. Jake taught Kevin "Mable" by Goldifinger. Things where well on thier way. "Things sure are well on thier way!" thought Jake.

Due to limited practice time, lack of intrest, etc. the current drummer Steve was left out and Regan Jones took over. Steve Alves was also no longer persuing the dream. So now the band was made up of what was to become Kurmugeon. Unfortunatly things weren't going so well. The band had no focus. Then, later that month a beam of white light shone down. The band was going to get a gig. Jake's girlfriend Stace, was having a big wing ding, so she decided to give his band a chance. This was to happen in two days. Unfortunatly, the party it's self was thier only practice. This though lead off to series of public appearances, including playing at Rock 'n Bowl a couple of times, playing at school events and also an appearance at a Hospital thingy.

School started this year (Sept. '97), and unfortunatly Phil decided that he should persure a higher education. He is now attending Guelph University - located in Guelph ... duh. We wish him all the best in finding another band. (TRAITOR!!!!!!!!! just kidding ........ ) . Phil was replaced by Dyan.

We've now accquired 2 trumpets and 2 tenor saxophoes and are well on our way of becoming the most amazing alternative ska band ever!!!!!!!!!!

The Story Continues. It is now April and Longtime Member Kevin Grozelle is no longer in the band. I hesitate to say kicked out but more like replaced by our new Vocalist Ashley Stienhoff. Kevin was probably more geared toward a straight ahead punk band anyways. We've been asked to open for some signed bands and now that summer is comming, Things are going to be awesome.
