27 april 2005: noise for lovers is now available for purchase from the Mannequin Oddio Media site store! Click here for a full listing of their distribution items and support MOM!
A few new reviews of noise for lovers are up online-- one over at Opus and one at Lunar Hypnosis. Direct links to the reviews are here (Opus) and here (Lunar Hypnosis). Please check out these sites! I've been reading Opus for years, and Jason reviewed the respite EP a while back, so it's especially exciting that they enjoyed the album.
21 april 2005: Flaming Fish Music is now carrying noise for lovers in their online store!
15 april 2005: The Purevolume anaphylaxis site is finally up. Two downloadable tracks and one streaming-only available there.
A few radio stations online and on the air have been playing "all yours" and "a love set to music" from noise for lovers. Interesting.
I'm currently trying to plan a release (finally!) for the long, long, long-delayed Xiphoid Dementia split 3" single. If all goes well, I hope to have it out in the not-too-distant future. Keep your fingers crossed.
12 april 2005: Mailed off my taxes yesterday. Good times.
You can now buy noise for lovers through CD Baby! Click here to go directly to the info/order page.
11 april 2005: The first review of noise for lovers is up! Click here to check out the Igloo Magazine review. Much to my relief, it's extremely positive! Last two sentences of the review: "It takes a meticulous and discreet hand to make a noise record that doesn't rely on shattering sound systems and flensing ears. Jason Coffman is my new hero." Goodness!
There's a new anaphylaxis mp3 page over at Mp3.com.au. Watch for more in the coming days!
10 april 2005: Finally got an anaphylaxis page up over on Myspace.com. Working on getting more mp3s from various releases posted all over the place... keep checking back for more information, as per usual.
8 april 2005: noise for lovers was officially released on Tuesday, April 5th! Head over to Parasomnic Records to order a copy now! I'll keep this page updated with places selling the cd as more pick it up, I say with fingers crossed.
There is now an anaphylaxis mp3 page over at SoundClick. There are a couple of tracks related to noise for lovers that don't appear on the album-- the original mix of "a love set to music" and a demo version/"first draft" of "hopeless" called "lovesick."
Also currently looking into making reverb a free download-only album in the not-too-distant future. Again, I'll keep this page updated with any information regarding that release.
Oh, and before I forget, Mannequin Oddio's Ampcast site is back up for a limited time, so all the reissues are available to purchase again if anyone is interested!
Thanks for your time and interest!
31 march 2005: Parasomnic Records is now taking preorders for noise for lovers! It's $10 (including shipping), and will be officially released Tuesday, April 5th. Please go support Parasomnic for their hard work and patience in getting the album out!
Also, I don't think I properly announced this, but the Il Programa di Religione compilation from Boyarm is also now available from their store! 265 artists on one cd for $8. Awesome.
10 march 2005: noise for lovers has been pushed back to April 5th while we iron out some problems with the artwork. Sorry for the delay.
20 february 2005: noise for lovers now has an official release date! The album is currently scheduled to drop March 29th, 2005. Parasomnic just posted an mp3 sample of the remastered "a valentine" on their site's download page.
We're working on figuring out how to do some live shows that will be more interesting and representative of what's on the album than the anaphylaxis shows in the past. Keep checking back here for more information.
Once again, thank you for your time and interest.
21 january 2005: Mastering has been completed on noise for lovers. This was done by Chris at Hanzsek Audio in Seattle, WA. We're working on the artwork now, and the cd is set for a tentative March release. There are new mp3 excerpts here on the Parasomnic Records site of a couple of the remastered tracks. Very exciting! Keep checking back for more information, and thank you for your time.
13 january 2005: There is now official word from Parasomnic Records that we're aiming at a March release for noise for lovers. Mastering will be taking place very soon, we just have to finish up the artwork and figure out a few other small details and we'll see if we can't get this damned thing out there already. Good times!
6 january 2005: Due to the end of the contract with Ampcast, Mannequin Oddio's site is no longer there. This means that all the anaphylaxis albums released through MO are now once again out of print. Thank you to anyone who bought cds from them. Hopefully the rest of you will get a chance again in the not-too-distant future.
I have moved to Chicago. I won't have an address I feel comfortable sharing for a while yet-- I've had some problems with mail delivery, so I apologize for that.
Boyarm is due to release Il Programa di Religione very soon, if it isn't already available. It's an ambitious compilation of 15-second tracks by over 250 different artists from around the world. anaphylaxis makes an appearance, marking the first official release of any new material in nearly two years. But, you know, buy it for the two hundred sixty-four other tracks, because there's sure to be tons of cool stuff on there.
Thank you for your time, patience, and interest in anaphylaxis. I hope to reward them soon.
30 september 2004: Still working out the kinks on getting noise for lovers ready for release. I re-recorded the first track, and it sounds good on headphones. In a stereo, not so good. So I might need to give that another go. Some copyright clearance issues will also need to be ironed out before anything else is official, so that might take a while. But things are coming along and hopefully we'll have it out early next year.
In some personal news, I am moving to Chicago in the next month. Busy busy busy.
20 september 2004: The work progresses on getting noise for lovers really, legitimately released, but it's slow going. Mainly due to copyright issues at the moment, but it's coming along thanks to some amazing help from Geoff Dargan over at Parasomnic (and some crack investigating by me and Leslie). The track listing on the information page should now be assumed as tentative. It will likely change before the album's official release.
That's about it for now, except for some vague rumblings about some possible shows in the northern midwest with everyone's favorite northern midwestern experimental audio magician. And I'm going to be moving to Chicago in the next month or so, which should help facilitate that.
Thanks as always for your time and interest.
19 august 2004: Never mind that last news update, looks like Mannequin Oddio's Ampcast site is up and running. Apparently Ampcast did a complete upgrade to new servers starting Saturday that was supposed to be done Sunday, so they posted a notice in their forums last Friday afternoon. And the site just went back up this morning. So lesson learned, I guess. For all parties.
However, Mannequin Oddio is still planning on leaving Ampcast at the end of this year. So once this year is out, they will probably be out of print once again. And I'm trying to decide which ones even still need to be in print and would be worth the effort once that happens... bleah.
Additionally, due to all the excitement around here today, I've overhauled the discography (which I'd promised to do a really long time ago, sorry), added liner notes to all the reissued album pages that have liner notes in them, and just generally cleaned things up on that part of the site. It should be easier to figure out what exactly is in print and available and what isn't. And all the links on the page work now, which is a big step up.
18 august 2004: There's an anaphylaxis interview up over at Mannequin Oddio's web site. I think it was over a year ago when we actually did the interview, and it was really long, so it's been edited and formatted very nicely.
Sounds Are Active has released the new expanded edition of Xn's ideas without numbers. It has an anaphylaxis remix on it, along with a bunch of other great stuff. The original album (EP?) was excellent, and this version is even better.
Boyarm is all done with pre-production on the Il Programma di Religione compilation, and it'll be out this fall. Insane.
Oh, and the, uh, entire anaphylaxis discography is out of print again. I was going to post about Mannequin Oddio leaving Ampcast last week, but now it seems that Ampcast just doesn't exist anymore. So if you want any anaphylaxis cds... I honestly can't help you out at all. Oops.
Hopefully something will get worked out sooner rather than later. Until then, find and download all the mp3s you want.
Thanks for your time and patience. Take care.
11 june 2004: Surprise! There are two new anaphylaxis tracks available now over at the anaphylaxis page on Interconnected. These are the first new recordings in nearly a year, made mostly with old-school tools like I was using back in '98-2000. You'll probably be able to tell.
The tracks are titled "just fell through the ice" and "the yasmin palace," both of which come from my girlfriend Leslie Phipps. Titles first, recordings second. Recorded with Mixman Studio, Wavelab Lite, Ultradia VB, and Audiomulch. I'm feeling inspired, so there might be another new track up somewhere before the weekend is out.
Not sure where these tracks will end up, either on the next album (shell beach is the title and that's all I have so far) or perhaps another release of some sort. Keep checking back, and I may have more information before another month passes.
Or not.
Thank you for your time and attention.
13 may 2004: Since mp3.com and christianmp3.com have both closed, I set up a new mp3 page over at Interconnected. There are some more recent tracks available for free download or streaming on that page, most of which are not on the IUMA or Ampcast sites. I've changed the sounds page accordingly.
Copies of noise for lovers have been sent out. More will be sent out soon. I'm hoping for a late Summer/Fall release, but we'll see.
29 april 2004: My sincerest apologies for not updating the site in five months. But since nothing new has really happened since the last update, I guess it makes sense.
noise for lovers has been finished since December, but now things are moving. I'm in the process of making copies now. Hopefully we'll see it out by this summer. Keep your fingers crossed.
On the personal front, I'll be moving to Chicago around that time as well, so things probably won't be updated here for a while again while I try to get my move all lined up. However, I'll be sure to update this news page if and when anything new happens.
In the meantime, go visit Parasomnic and wait impatiently for the new Hollydrift album. And maybe order Describing Paranoia if there are any copies left.
Thanks again for your time and interest. Take care.
27 december 2003: noise for lovers is finished. Final track listing is up on the previously-linked page. Not sure when, where, or how it might be eventually released, but it's done.
please let me know what you think of the site by e-mailing me directly anaphylaxis1@yahoo.com.
