Mariah Carey has been known to frequent fashion shows where new clothing lines are unveiled.  Her wardrobe includes outfits by such famous designers as Gucci, Mizrahi and Alfaro.  You probably wouldn't find much in the way of long dresses and baggy attire in Mariah's closet.  She prefers her skirts and dresses way short and other articles of clothing to be on the snug side.  Fortunately, she has the figure to pull it off.  She does work hard at staying in shape.  Besides exercising regularly, Mariah is careful; about what she eats.  She snacks on low-fat popcorn, baked tortilla chips, fat-free fig bars and fresh fruit.
For her June '93 wedding to Sony Music president, Tommy Mottola, Mariah went all out fashion-wise.

She dazzled the 300 so guests when she walked down the aisle wearing a tiara modeled after the one Princess Diana wore at her wedding to Prince Charles and an ivory satin gown by designer Vera Wang.

She sported a matching satin pumps which set her back over $1000.  Before the wedding ceremony, she slipped an 1893 sixpence coin into one of her shoes for good luck.

To film the video to her 1995 hit "Fantasy", from her CD, 1995's Daydream, Mariah went for an ultra casual, somewhat grungy, Rollerblading look. The torn denim shorts were stictly for fashion but the knee pads served a pratical purpose.  Mariah admitted, she fell down twice during the shoot.
When it comes to her hair, Mariah loves to play around with new looks, such as this crimped 'do she donned for a night out.

Compare her hair changes on the left with her on the right.  Her hair stylist, Syd Curry, has said, "Mariah finally realized it was time to stop hiding behind all that hair and start showing her face."

Mariah loves to change her look with various hats and accessories and, especially, shoes.  Her fondness for footwear stems from her early days as a struggling waitress.  Back then she used to trek around New York City in a torn and ratty pair of shoes that once belonged to her mother, whose feet was half a size smaller than her own.  It was at that point that Mariah, made a vow: "I said to myself, 'One day I'm gonna have a whole chest full of shoes,' and that's what I did."

Leather pants and clothes on the snug side is so Mariah.

When Mariah is not up for getting glamorized and gussied-up, and her old jeans and T-shirt standby just isn't going to cut it, Mariah's likely to reach into her closet and grab something feminine yet casual, such as this breezy gingham sundress.
