GREETINGS

Welcome to the Sarnia, ON, Canada, or 'Chemical Valley' as we refer to it, hardcore archive. This website compiles information of anything related to the hardcore/punk community that has arose in this fair city of ours. It's had its ups and downs, however, it must be acknowledged that we have a long and rich history of dedicated, DIY, bands and individuals.

I've been working on this project since 2000/2001 or so, pretty much since I realized how the lack of connection between the past and the present has contributed to the 'downs' I've noticed occurring, as new generations of people have to re-learn all the same lessons the generation before them had already.

I'm looking for contributions to help this site to be as complete as possible so if you are, or were involved in the punk scene in Sarnia, or have played shows here with bands you are/were in, your help would be appreciated. Please see the site-info page for more information about what type of contributions I'm looking for.

I hope someday to compile this information in a hardcopy format such as a book, or a series of zines.

"So you think this is about you
It's about every kid, every band, every show.
Do your best to support the scene
Acceptance holds the keys that'll make it grow."

NEWS

OCT 18, 2006
I'm intending to work on a large update that will make the site more extensive, as well as easier to update in the long-term. Maybe someday some photos?
In terms of info, I've recently recorded some interviews with Scumbag Kevin trying to get our info straight about the SOC days, as well as many other subjects. I intend and hope to do more of these with people as I've found discussion yields better results than requesting submissions of information. However, submissions are obviously still appreciated/requested/encouraged.
