Greetings fellow Goo fans,
hope all is well with everyone. Anyways, I just got back from Denver last
night. I attended the Goo concert on the 28th up there. It was my very
first Goo experience and I have to say it was one of the best things I
have ever done in my whole life. Now I know how you guys feel when I read
your reviews of other Goo concerts, it is amazing. Okay so here is what
basically happened at the show. I got there around 4:00 or 4:30 (thanks
to the mass amount of traffic). I saw all the bands tour buses lined up
in a blocked off area. A very cool radio station was there covering it
and i think they were also
giving away tickets to an Orgy concert in Denver on then 4th of August.
Anyways, I sat out there and waited for a long time, while it was raining.
I took my camera and stuffed it in my cargo pockets on my pants, they didn't
find it, but security was way too tight for me to take any pictures. Once
I got in I rushed over to the place where they were selling all the Goo
shirts and stickers and stuff. I bought a shirt eventhough it was a tad
bit pricey, but oh well. Fastball didn't come on at 6:30 it was closer
to 7:30 because they were letting the rain die down a little bit. I couldn't
believe how awesome fastball was!! I went in there thinking oh boy here
is that crapy band who sings "The Way". I totally don't think that any
more they were so awesome!! I have so much more respect for them as a band.
After that Sugar Ray stepped on stage with their very elaborate set. Which
was very cool!! Their DJ Homicide rode out on a bike
and it was cool because Mark
kept on going over to his own little personal bar to get a drink. Sugar
Ray also surprised me, I have lots more respect for them as well, they
ROCKED!! Finally the Goo's come out and start off with "Dizzy". Oh my gosh
the incredible amount of energy was just like all over that crowd. My legs
are still in pain from jumping up and down so much, but hey at least it
was worth it. The Goo's were just amazing. After "Lazy Eye" I think they
John introduced everybody. It was funny when he introduced Nathan he flipped
off everyone. Then when they played Name John said
something like he got more
shit for writing Name then Marilyn Manson got for piercing his nipples.
Oh yeah and then John was saying something like his little nieces and nephews
always ask him if he knows the Backstreet Boys and he always has to say
no, because he doesn't even know who they are, then he said if he
ever met the Backstreet Boys that they probably could kick his ass and
of course everyone screamed out No I don't think so. And Robby said it
would be like Michael Jackson trying to fight in one of his videos. I think
my favorite part was when John was playing this game where he would strum
his guitar and then after we would have to clap and it was so funny because
he would strum it we would clap and then he would wait awhile and start
laughing and then do it again and then it went into "Just The Way You Are"
which was just fantastic. Oh yeah and the little movie thing before the
Goo's play, I thought that was hilarious, maybe a little cheesy but hey
it meant well. Then the very last song "Two Days In February" was just
awesome, they had that same screen they played that movie on and there
was like this chick on the telephone on there and I thought it was funny
because everyone was just singing away to "Iris", "Slide" and "Name" and
then "Two Days In February" comes on and I swear I could only hear me and
my sister and about 10 other people singing. WoW I have typed alot, I better
shut up. Going to my first Goo concert and first concert ever was an experience
I myself will never ever forget, it was just awesome. I can't really put
it all into words, it was just awesome!!
