FOUR
Dark secluded alley
10:39 P.M., Friday
Samantha Leaned up against the wall, into the shadows, trying not to bring attention to herself. She was undetectable from a glance when looking down the thin alley. She looked around cautiously and tilted her head up. She screamed a high-pitched scream that was undetectable by human ears. A few dogs started howling. She looked up and saw a faint light blink in the sky, to normal people, even through a telescope it looked like a far away star, but it was a complex satellite that signaled all of her kind that was on assignment that they would be picked up.
She looked down the alley and a small black Saturn screeched into it. It sped towards her. It stopped right beside her and the door opened.
"Come in Samantha," A deep voice said, inside the dark car she saw the small glow from the burning end of a cigarette. The smoke gave a unique haze to the inside of the car. Samantha ducked into the car quickly and slammed the door ,"I have another assignment for you Samantha, this one will be handled differently than all of your past experiences," the voice continued. The man puffed his cigarette. He picked up a folder and pulled out a glossy picture. The overhead light in the car flipped on, revealing the cigarette-smoking man holding up a picture.
"This man, he will be one of the hardest assignments you have had yet. The hardest one you ever will have. You are to confront him, alone, and give him this." He handed her a small gold cross necklace. "This is the symbol of his weakness, it belongs to the one thing he can not live without. When you reach him, give him this and say 'she's gone, she's one of us now' then shoot him." Samantha looked at the picture, having every detail memorized but finding something interesting about this man. Samantha looked at the Cigarette-smoking man with an odd expression.
"How will that weaken him? What is the point of that if all I am going to do is kill him?"
"Just because this is different from past assignments does not mean you can ask questions," He said sharply ,"Do what you are told, nothing more, nothing less. He will be in the area where your last target was. Follow him until you get a perfect opportunity."
"It's as good as done." she opened the door and stepped out. She watched the car pull away into the darkness. A black rat ran into a pile of trash. Samantha looked up at the satellite. She looked down the alley after the car. Samantha held the small gold cross in front of her face and let it sway slowly, the gold catching the small amount of light. It shinned brightly in the dark area. Samantha rubbed the cool gold between her thumb and forefinger. She opened the small clasp. She then secured it around her neck and tucked it inside of her black catsuit. She climbed up onto the roof, and dashed off into the night with blinding speed.
