Monday, September 27th 1999 : The Nassau Coliseum
My 2 friends
and I arrived at the Nassau coliseum at 5 o'clock. We weren't allowed in
till 6:30. We were all really nervous. But when we got to our seats, we
were as happy as could be. We were right in front of the stage. We didn't
even have front row, we were in front of the front row. Two feet in front
of us laid the stage. I think it was the VIP section. We went bananas.
Leigh-Anne was right in front of us. My friend kept taking pictures of
her.
The concert
was great!! The boys came out from the side on surf boards. They were wearing
ya know.. the same costume from the Disney concert for Larger Than Life.
They played the Star Trek theme song as they flew. Then they started Larger
Than Life as they got to the stage. They continued with Get Down. After
that, they all took time alone to say "hi". They all were like "Long Island
got it goin on" We were like OOH YEA! Don't ask me the order of the songs..
I don't remember them. But during "All I Have To Give", Kevin dropped his
hat!! It was so cute.
Right before
they played "Back to Your Heart", Kevin got up on the piano, which came
from the ceiling, and played a new song that he just wrote. He played a
duet with Mindi, their saxophone player. It was AWESOME!! Then Kev stayed
up there and the guys came on stage and sung "Back to your Heart" together.
During "Perfect Fan", They each picked out a mother and daughter and brought
them on stage. It was so sweet.
During "Don't
Want You Back", they each of them got on a poll and danced and stuff. AJ
was right in front of me!! They played "Spanish Eyes", "No One Else Comes
Close" and "Show Me The Meaning" in the middle of the band. They were wearing
pink suits and hats with a black shirt. I got all happy everytime that
part of the stage moved around and I saw Kevin. During one song when Brian
was singing, AJ was right by us and he was making faces. He was so cute!
All the boys
all moved around the stage a lot, the only boy we didn't see too much of
was Nick. They played a total of 20 songs: the 11 tracks from Millennium
(minus "I need You Tonight" and they played, "Get Down", "Everybody", "All
I have to Give", "As Long As You Love Me", "I'll Never Break Your Heart",
"Let's Have A Party", "Quit Playin Games" and "We've Got It Goin' On" This
was THE best concert!! I can't wait to see how my pictures come out!! I
will post some of them in my newsletter,
The
Pumpkin Patch .+//
Thanks for listening!!

October 5th - Chicago
My friends,
Tess, Hannah, and Patty, and I, Kristin went to the Chicago Backstreet
Boys concert on October 5th. It was our first concert of two for Tess and
Patty and of three for Hannah and I. We got to the arena around 6:30 and
cut in line (sorry everyone) to get in. We were totally freaking out the
whole day in school before that, just knowing that BSB was in the same
building as us kept smiles on our faces. We tried to go find our seats
for the Thursday concert but they check your tickets for every section
you go in, and if your ticket isn’t for that section you can’t go in! We
went to our seats, row L on the angeled part of the floor. They were so
good! You could see the whole stage with no distractions. We went and talked
to some security guards near the stage and made friends with them, but
they told us they couldn’t get us backstage! We went back to our seats
and then saw Tommy (bsbband.com) walking around on the floor next to the
stage. We screamed out his name but he couldn’t hear us. Only like 2 girls
knew who he was and asked for his autograph. Don’t worry we will catch
him on Thursday! Well anyways........
Mandy Moore
was the first opening act. She wasn’t all that hot, even though I love
the song Candy. She never danced and had a baby voice.
Then came EYC.
Let me just tell you, these guys are SOOOOOO hot! Trey and the other one,
(sorry I can’t remember his name) they are really good. Really good singers
too! I enjoyed them a lot!
After about
35 minutes after that BSB poped up out of this big black box and came floating
down on the stage on their surfboards. It was so cool, you could just barely
see them! Then once their dancers unhooked them they did this marching
thing, with Kevin leading it :-) He was so cute and sexy, my gosh! I loved
how they showed him on the huge screen over the stage! Once they marched
all around the stage they sang Larger Than Life and Get Down. Everything
was great. (Note: If you feel BSB is not over on your side, don’t fret
they change where they are about every minute.) We were on the side mostly
with AJ and Howie, which was cool, even though with Kevin would of been
better, but he was on our side a lot too. Then BSB did the flying over
the crowd thing, it was awesome, HOWIE DID SO MANY FLIPS! He was amazing,
AJ hung upside down the whole time while security threw him teddy bears,
which he couldn’t catch! :-) I couldn’t really see anyone else flying.
Ok I am going
to cut to the Perfect Fan. Kevin was so cute, he was trying to talk before
the song, and he couldn’t! Brian came over and hugged him, and Kevin was
like, “Ok I can’t talk now guys, so B-Roks gonna take it.”
My favorite
part of the whole concert was when Kevin waved at me! I know, I know what
you all are saying, YEAH RIGHT! Well I was the only one in my section waving
to him, and it was durring No One Else Comes Close, when the stage was
rotating. I waved every time he came around! Then finally, I started singing,
and while I was waving, Kevin did a cute little wav and smile back to me,
I thought I was going to die on the spot!
Brian also
pointed and waved to my friends and I, and AJ made “eye contact” with Hannah
and Patty.
The most amazing
song to hear live was, Show Me the Meaning. It was incredably beautiful.
They ending
of the concert was awesome. They whole thing with the dancers, and Howie,
and Brian break dancing is so cute! (I won’t say more, I will leave it
for when you go to the concert.)
They finished
up with an awesome version of I Want it That Way. All in all the concert
was totally awesome. Best I have ever seen.
After the concert
we went to the busses but they had already left. We talked to these girls,
who were direct look alikes of Amanda Latona and Leighanne, but it turns
out it was only these Hospitality Girls from Sears. They did say that they
were in sound check and the Boys were goofing around and Leighanne was
in the audience! Oh yeah, Brian also said that out of all the cities, his
mother came to Chicago to watch the show! YEAH! We also met this girl who’s
family was from Kentucky and whose father taught at Tates Creek High School
while Brian was there.
The last thing
that happened to us while we were by the busses is that I yelled and asked
this guy in the bus if he was in the band. He said no, so I was like, are
you in the crew? And he said yes, so my friend took my and my friend Tess’
stuffed animals out of my bag and asked if he could give them to Brian
and Kevin. He said he would! We had little notes attached to them, that
we hope they read! We were so excited!
The concert
was the best. If I tell you one thing to do, it is to keep your eyes open
and don’t be afraid to talk to people there, everyone is totally friendly!
We are going back to the October 7th concert, 3ed ROW! And then I am going
to the Madison concert on November 3ed! Feel free to e-mail me any questions
or commets, I will be sure to write back! I will writeanother review for
the other concerts if you guys want. OK well see ya soon! BYE!
