Member of KISS: January 1973-28 December 1982; 28 February 1996-present
Ace was reduced to being a cab driver in the Bronx when he answered an ad placed by Paul Stanley. The ad read: "local three-piece band looking for a guitarist with flash and balls." Ace went to Paul and Gene's loft wearing one red and one orange sneaker. Ace designed the KISS logo and Paul refined it. Ace was electrocuted at a show in Lakeland, Florida. Ace achieved solo success in 1978, when "New York Groove" became a top 20 hit. He only contributed on track during the recording sessions of The Elder. In July of 1982, Ace was involved in a 120 mph auto accident which prevented him from recording Creatures of the Night (even though he appears on the cover). In 1986, Ace signed with Megaforce Records and released three albums, Frehley's Comet, Second Sighting, and Trouble Walkin'. Rejoined KISS after thier successful MTV Unplugged appearance. Ace is married to his wife, Jeanette, and they have one daughter, Monique.
"The photo shoot was fun, especially the panoramic shot. I don't think I've seen that many naked women in KISS makeup in my life. I was inpressed."----Ace Frehley on thier recent appearance in Playboy
