KYLIE NEWS DESK

Kylie has signed a new record deal with Parlophone Records in Britain. Parlophone is a subsidiary of EMI Records which has had great success recently, representing many of today's most popular artists. The official press release from the record company says that they are looking to make an "out-and-out pop album." Though this could mean anything, it is thought that the new album will be more in keeping with Kylie Minogue 1994 than Impossible Princess, which earned Kylie the "IndieKylie" Tag. Both Kylie and Parlophone have said that they look froward to the joint venture.

Kylie's duet with The Pet Shop Boys, "In Denial", will be released on their new album which is due out in a couple of months. It is thought that the song will not be released as a single. Kylie's other collaboration, "The Reflex" which she recorded with Ben Lee has still not surfaced a few months after the recording took place. It was recorded for an Australian Duran Duran tribute album.

Kylie has recently finished filming two new movies, set for release sometime this year. The first role is a cameo in an independent horror movie, "Cut", also starring Molly Ringwald. The second is as part of an ensemble cast in "Sample People". All that is known of this film is that it chronicles the lives of a group of young people over a few hot, sweaty days in Sydney, Australia. It is thought that the film is set sometime in the future. Both are set for commercial cinema releases in Australia, and possibly Europe. It is unclear whether or not they will be released in America.
