CHRIS GUASTELLE

Chris has been playing the Northeast US for close to 13 years now. While his main instrument is piano, he is also an able rhythm guitarist. He has played with many of the top regional bands including 52nd Street, Braino, New Power Soul, Bums in the Park, and The Swingin' Johnsons. Bums in the Park have opened for such national acts as 10,000 Maniacs, Southside Johnny and the Jukes, Dave Stewart, Steve Vai, Carl Perkins, and the Rascals. Chris has also played with former members of Blood, Sweat, and Tears, The Bay City Rollers, The Rascals, and the Gary "U.S." Bonds Band. While blues-based rock is his primary playing style, he is also a capable jazz pianist and plays with his own jazz trio on a weekly basis.

Chris attended William Paterson University in order to complete the requirements for a bachelor's degree in Music. During this time he was building a reputation as a versatile keyboardist on the NY/NJ live circuit. He began playing clubs in 1992 and eventually was working up to five nights a week. While attending William Paterson he was employed by the music department as an assistant at the Center for Electroacoustic Music. After obtaining his bachelor's degree he decided to continue schooling at New York University. While attending NYU, he worked as a staff musician for Alan Zahn and Lloyd Landesman at Red House Music in the West Village. Chris completed his studies in late 1999 and received a Masters in Music from NYU . He currently operates his own music production studio in Midtown Manhattan called Skyview Sound.
