Steve has proved himself to be a
real asset to Liverpool, having played in many positions and always giving
100 per-cent effort. His real strength is his fierce tackling and competitive
spirit, but he is more than just a destroyer, his accurate passing enabling
the Reds to move swiftly from defence to attack. 1997-98 was his best season
yet, and was especially rewarding after recovering from a badly broken
leg sustained at Coventry in 1995-96. In doing the simple things well,
he is a player you can rely upon. |
