Tourdates for the latest tourdates click here News (12/24/06) First off, let me tell you Happy Holidays and I hope the next year is a good one for you. This year was a pretty shitty one for me to say the least. I lost a damned good friend, a damned good job, and on top of everything else, the transmission in my 70' Torino GT went out on me yesterday leaving me stranded while it pissed scorched transmission fluid all over the road beneath it's broke down ass. So hopefully, there'll be something good to look forward to in the coming year like a new Ween CD and a World tour to match. As for now, you can go to ween.com and check out Mickey's news page to see some pics of the farmhouse studio they're working on their new album in and get the latest on Ween. (5/25/06) Damn long time since an update around here! Most people probably thought the Burro was gone for good. Not the case, I've just had alot of shit on my plate. I'm not going to go into the whys and whynots I haven't been staying on top of things, there's really no valid excuses other than just to say I've been one busy fella in some areas and somewhat lazy in other areas. I will say though, the updates will be few and far between. I'm not going to bullshit you one bit about that. I don't trade bootlegs much anymore, practically never for that matter, so therefore, there's not much of a reason to update that part of the site. I will mention though, I can now transfer any of the VHS material I have onto DVD, but you can read about that on the tradepage. As far as this 'News and Tourdates' page, well, there's far better sites out there to give you the scoop more than I ever could. Hell, I've never had any "News Exclusives" anyway, just passed on information that could be obtained from either ween.com or ween.net. I'll still upload live shots from shows I attend, but since I'm usually videotaping, I can't really snap many photos. If I get my hands on any good magazine articles, I'll post them just as I'll post any new information I receive in the future about Ween's music gear. On a final note, I've got to give a farewell nod to my friend and bandmate, Damon Strickland. Damon was killed in a car accident May 9th. Not too long ago, our band took a little break and Damon was going to take advantage of the downtime to work on a project he had been wanting to start for some time. He wanted to start a website. He asked me a few questions about starting one and I gave him a few pointers. Since I'm far from being a pro, I just pointed him towards geocities and told him how to go about getting his own 'dot com' address. One thing he wanted to do from the start of it was to do something a little different. He wanted to interview folks that meant alot to him in the music he loved, the movies he enjoyed and people he held interest in. He didn't want to just ask them typical questions though, he wanted to ask the questions about things that he would like to have known about. In just the few short months he had his Tensticks.com, he managed to put together a pretty impressive website. With help from his cousin, it went from an average looking, cookie cutter geocities site like the one I run here, to a professional website that is as unique as he was. His cousin and nephew will continue to carry on his vision and from what I hear, they'll be posting a few interviews he had conducted right before his death. I know this has nothing to do with Ween, but it very well possibly could have. Just two nights before he died, he told me he wanted me to help him arrange interviews with both Claude Coleman and Guy Heller. I told him I didn't have any kind of pull at all, but I could see what I could do. If you've read this much of the update, please click on over to Tensticks.com and check out what Damon Strickland had going on. If you're wondering what the 'tensticks' is all about, it stemmed from an inside joke between he and I about Special Agent Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks. You'd have to read the book about the Dale Cooper tapes to get the meaning. For the news archives, click here. |
