Band History!

How did JC, Lance, Joey, Chris, and Justin form NSYNC? Well, they did it all on their own, and here's how!

Chris had been singing and performing throughout his entire life and decided he wanted to get a group together. So, Chris called Justin, as the two of them had known each other from some auditions.

Justin liked Chris's idea so he called up JC, a friend of his from the Mickey Mouse Club.

JC knew Chris from Univeral Studios, also in Orlando, FL, and was also interested in the group.

Chris, Justin, and JC got together one day and went to a club. Here, they bumped into the smooth dance, Joey Fatone. JC remembers Joey "looked at me and looked at Chris and he goes what are two doing here together?" Joey responds "It was kinda weired seeing JC and Chris together because...I'd never seen them together before!" Joey was psyched when the three guys asked him to join the group as well.

With four members in the group, things were looking pretty good. However, a problem arose. "We knew we were gonna have a fifth person because the four of us that we had couldn't sing bass." Chris commented on the situation. JC adds, "We had some nice, some airy stuff, and we had movement in our harmonies and everything like that, but we wanted a round sound, you know, top to bottom and, uh, so thats when Justin got a hold of Lance." Sure enough, Justin did some research through his old vocal coach and he suggested Lance Bass

Lance was definitely interested in the group and he immediately went to Orlando. There, he met the other guys and instantly fell in love with everything.


Chris found his other four band memebers and it was smooth sailing from there on. NSYNC was formed and soon enough they would release their first single, "I Want You Back".
