Opinion Vs Opinion

[Funny Guy]

The purpose of this page is to voice our opinions on music in society today. What is the future of music? Here you will be able to tell the world how you feel.

My thoughts:

I beleive there is a future to music because there always was one, this fact has never ceased to fail. However, most music today is not what it was in the past. Then, people played music because they loved it. Not for the money, not for the fans, and not for the publicity. Today is a completely different story. A classic example is B*U*S*H, these people decide to play music. One day someone finds them and makes them known throughout the country. We all know who the lead singer is today because of the fact that he IS Gavin Rossdale. So what? Okay, so the man can sing. Before, he was just a person on stage, didnt care who was in the audience, didnt care what shirt was on his back. Or at least this was the impression that I got off of his apearence so many years ago. All of the sudden a bit of money comes in for him...today Gavin Rossdale is wearing make-up on the stage.

For starters, I'm not a huge Bush fan although I do think they have some really good music. You may have seen Gavin before Bush was famous but I don't think you have the right to say he dosn't care about the fans. Just because he wears makeup dosn't mean he's fake or shallow. I think you may be getting this from the media hype or maybe you just want to hate Bush. I can't say that this hasn't happened to me before, so I'd be guilty of the same charges just on different circumstances. I'm kind of curious as to you position on The Smashing Pumpkins? Conan

i must concur with conan that some people may hate bush because they want to. i also think that some of the problems i, and other people have with bush are because of the media hype. however, i found it rather pathetic when i saw gavin rossdale on the cover of rolling stone magazine all done up like some glamourous model. where was the rest of the band? granted the article may have been on gavin and gavin alone, i still wonder why a supposedly talented "musician" was all done up like that. i generally don't look for glamour in an artist of any kind, what does something like that say about their art. is their image more important to them than their art? if it is, then i probably won't pay much attention to their art, because it isn't their main concern. i wish all musicians were in it for the music and the music alone, but this has never been the case. if people are willing to pay money to see a high priced musician, they will exist. it's as simple as that, at least as long as we are living in a capitolist society that is. liam
