From:Laura Vorps. ridley@pathcom.com Hi AlL! WeLL the day finally came when we got to see SugAr Ray and heres how it went~! It was the Best DAy of our LiveS, no jokE~! WE skipped last period to head down to Much music where we were hoping sugar ray would make an appearance. When we got there we say Mark giving an interview, but we were like 5 fuckin minutes too late to get inside. So instead we watched from outside, which was still amazin. Durin the interview someone asked Mark if he had any interestin tatoos and if we could see them . He then proceeded to pull down his pants (well sorta) revealing the cadillac tatoo on his hip. AfterwardS we walked into the muchmusic building and begged the dude to let us in where Mark was signin autographs. Finally, his promotional guy was soooooooo nice and let about 5 of us in. When it was our turn he signed a couple pics and then let us take a pic with him, he was so nice and sweet, doing anything that anyone asked him to do! We then left and headed over to 102.1 THE EDGE (radio station) here Mark was comin to do another interview as well as some of the guyZ from 311. At around 6:15 we got in after waitin for like an hour or more. Mark arrived and it was more pics and autographs. One girl asked for Marks 311 jacket that he was wearin and he actually gave it to her. We could not get over how nice and down to earth he was. In between each commercial break he would get up and sign more autogrpahs and pose for individual pics with anyone who asked. At around 7:00 he left and SA and P-Nut from 311 came in and did their bit. They were equally as nice and P-Nut actually stripped down and gave sum chick his tShirt. He showed us all his new tattoo on his upper arm. Once they were finished we were off to the actual show. We had to walk for like 15 minutes in the freeZin cold to get to the WArehouse. Anyways, Sugar Ray went on at about 9:15 and opened with 10 Seconds Down. they only played 4 songs from FlooreD....Speed Home California, RPM, Anyone, and of course they closed with FLy. Mark was so into the crowd, pullin someone onstage, helpin people outta the pit, doin impersonations, dancing like crazy, handin out water and even takin requests. They played Twisted sister for sum guy. Where we were standin , Murphy was right in front of us. We got sum good pics of him. In the middle of the set Mark came on with a placque showing their platinum record in Canada. After sugAr Ray exited the stage we worked our way to the side of the stage for 311. The Guyz headed on stage at around 10:20 and I got a high fiveR from nick on his way up. 311 was pumped and full of energy, everyone was dancin around. Durin their set some of the guys frum sugaR raY worked there way out to where we were. First Stan came out and we chatted with him a bit before a crowd started forming around. He said that they were most likely gonna be back in Toronto sometime around february and that they are thinkin of touring with GoldfingEr. This was nothin but good news! Then Rodney came out and again we talked and got some autographs. Lastly DJ Homocide came out. All they guys were so incredibely nice. Murphy was the only one we didnt get to see. Apparently he went onto the bus after their show but there's always next time. 311 played for about an hour and a half. They didnt play Transistor which we thought was sort of weird but non the less they were amazin. SA was dancin his ass off on stage, he was so crazy and full of energy. It was around 12:00 when they exited the stage. They went into the change rooms and basically then straight onto the bus, no encore :( but that was all right, they had already given us so much!
