Just then he felt a thump on his sholder. He looked over to see Zac's head placed there. Insted of pushing a sleeping Zac off of him, he rested his own head on Zac's. His mind soon returned to Brittney and he fell asleep in no time.
"Oh hey Josh." Brittney jumped, closing the magazine.
"Are you ok? Your kind of jumpy." Josh looked at her concerend.
"Ahh, no, ah, I ah, you... you just startled me, that's all. I mean, I didn't see you there."
"Oh sorry."
"That's ok. Why are you at the park this early?"
" Well, I went to Daley's for my mom, and when I came out I seen you over here."
"Oh, I just figured you'd be either sleeping or with Brock."
"No, Brock's got a b-ball game today."
"Oh." Brittney answered hoping he wouldn't ask her to go anywhere.
"You miss tay already huh?"
"What?" Brittney jumped again.
"Well, you were just staring at his picture in that magazine for like an hour."
"Oh, was I?"Well, yeah, I miss him."
"To get your mind off him, did you want to go to Michelle's for a while."
That's the last thing Brittney wanted to do. She wanted to be with Tay, be in New York with him, not stuck in Tulsa, scared to face josh.
"Brittney?" Josh looked at her.
"Huh? Oh sorry!"
"listen, he'll only be gone for a little while you know. i was talking to him last night. He said she going to miss you a lot. And I can't exactly blame him."
"Ok"Brittney thought. " That's it, he's starting again, and he's not getting to me this time!"
"Hey Josh, I just remembered, my dad's calling me today and I really need to talk to him so, ah, I can't go to Michelle's, ok"
"Sure, ok, whatever...."
"Yeah, tell Michelle I said hey,ok?"
"Sure."
"OK bye."
"Bye."
Brittney walked away, but she didn't want to go home yet. And suddenly she knew exactly where to go.
It was cold out and the wind was through the trees. But the sun was shining, so Brittney had no problem with being outside. The wood of the tree house was still cold from the night before. Just like seeing that plane, sitting there mad eher feel closer to Tay. The rope swing blew in the wind back and forth, as the tree shook. She couldn't wait till she could spend more time withTay. And maybe by then his schedual wouldn't be so bad. She had thought maybe spring break would have been a good time to spend with him but then she found out he was going away. He still has no idea about Josh. " I can't belive he would do that to his best friend." Brittney thought. Brittney shivered and decided to go home. She picked up her magazine and jumped onto the ground.
"I'm home." she cried coming in the door just as the phone rand. She kicked off her shoes and ran into the den.
"Hello?" she picked up the phone.
"Hi honey, how are you?"
"Oh hey dad! Not bad."
"Listen sweetie, I can't talk for long because I gotta go into work but..."
"Your new job has weird hours. Are you sure your ok with that?"
"Well yeah, anything if it pays money."
"I guess."
"Well listen, I was wondering if you wanted to come up for a couple days during Spring break?"
"That would be great! But how did you find the money to do this?"
"My new job and your aunt offered to pay for some."
"Oh dad! I'm so happy! I can't wait! Yes, yes, I'll come!"
"Great honey, oh and Robin wants you to call her."
"OK dad!"
"Well, I gotta go, I'll call you back tonight, ok?"
"OK. I love you!"
"I love you too, bye!"
"Bye!"
Brittney dialed Robin's number with excitement.
"Hello?"
"Hey Robin!"
"Oh my gosh, hey Britt!"
"Guess what? I'm coming home!!"
