The week had been so much fun for Brittney, which made her take her mind off some things. She had spent her day going to places she hung out before. Like the mall, the school yard, and the main street cafe.
Wednsday night could have been better though. They had no drive to get to the Grammy's and even if they had gone, they wouldn't have been able to get near the place for all the people and reporters.
But Thursday was bound to be better. They were going to Conan O'Brien, hopfully there Brittney would see Taylor.
"Brittney, it's your turn...Brittney...earth to Brittney...calling Brittney...HELLO?!" Robin yelled the next morning.
Brittney threw down her cards, wrecking their game of blackjack.
"I can't belive they didn't win last night! I mean, they worked so hard. They deserved it." Brittney sighed.
"Brittney it's the Grammy's....they did good, no great ...just to nominated."
"Yeah but, I'm still mad, those judges don't know anything."
"OK, ever since last night you've been in a bad mood. You need to get out. Let's go to the cafe for dinner. You really need to find them, don't you?"
"Well, yeah, their really good friends of mine. Yeah, ok, let's go to the cafe."
Brittney and Robin walked through the double doors as they searched for people they both knew.
"Hey look." Brittney said. "There's Jason, and cool, there's Mike, they haven't changed a bit!" They were the jocks of their old school.
"Yeah and look who's walking towards us."Robin pointed out.
"Hey Brittney, I thought that was you. You happy to be back in N.Y.?" said a purky Erin.
"Oh, Hey Erin."
"Hey did you guys go to the Grammy's last night?"
"Ah, no, why?"
"Oh it was just the best! Daddy took me and it was so exciting! I even got to see Hanson perform live and it was the coolest."
Brittney and Robin exchanged looks hoping not to break out laughing.
"Ah, well we're going to go sit at a table now." Robin added.
"OK,well I was just leaving anyway.Maybe I'll catch up with you later before you leave Brittney."
"Yeah ok."
Brittney and Robin were releaved to get rid of her so fast.
"Can you honestly belive her?" Robin asked sitting at a near by table.
"Can I help you?"The waitress asked.
"Yeah, I'll have a small fry and a cherry coke."Robin answered.
"Yeah I'll have the same, except I'll have a Dr.Pepper instead."
"Sure" the waitress said leaving.
"Oh my gosh, don't look now." Robin said shaking her head.
"Brittney is that you?" Shawn said putting his arms around her.
"Hey Shawn." she greeted him as he pulled 2 chairs over from a near by table for him and Mark.
"What are you doing on our turf?" Mark asked.
"I'm just here for spring break."
"Well let's make the best of it."Shawn said putting his arm around Brittney.
"Ah, no that's ok Shawn." she said moving slightly away from him."Plus, I'm already seeing someone."
"What?! Brittney how could you hurt me so? I can't belive it! You get my hopes up and then you break my heart!" he exclaimed dramatically, which made Brittney laugh. Robin gave her a look, but Brittney continued her conversation with the guys.
Birttney screamed at the top of her lungs as Conan O'Brien said goodbye for the night and as Hanson left the stage.
"Come on Robin" she screamed as she pulled on her friend. "If we hurry we can make it."
She flung the door open to the studio and ran down the ahll, then opened yet another door, still pulling on Robin, she ran around to the back of the studio, where a crown was starting to gather around a van. Brittney pushed her way through the crowd and made her was into the people. They were all chanting Hanson, and pushing one another waiting for the arrival of the guys.
Finally the doors opened as their bodyguard, Jason stepped in. The crowd screamed louder as the biys smiled at them. Birttney pushed harder and finally made her way to the front.
"Taylor!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.
He looked around confused. She screamed again as their eyes made contact.
"Brittney?" he said surprized. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for a week and I have to talk to you."
"I have to talk to you too. But I gotta go."
"I know, so here." she said passing him a piece of paper with her phone and address.
"I'll call you!" he screamed as Jason pulled him into the van. Birttney smiled and Robin jumped up and down as people around her gave them dirty looks.
