Sword & Gun

Little Mary, took the matches,
But blamed it on her brother Jake;
Old Fisherman, eats what he catches,
But he don’t know what’s in the lake

Or about the fire his Grandchildren started,
Hey, It’s burnin’ hotter than the Sun;
He dont’t know about his daughter,
He’s lived his life by Sword & Gun

Little Mary, made her mind up,
Brother Bill, he wavers still;
Old Politician, with no position,
just can’t seem to get his fill

Jake turned out to be the Black Sheep,
Little Mary’s now a Nun
Oh how life gets so confusing,
Livin’ life by Sword Gun

Well I tried to help him see,
Well I tried to help him through;
Well I tried but now, I’m over it,
I got to leave, got to leave you

Little Mary, and her brothers,
Ran with buckets in their hands;
Old Fisherman, dreams of another,
He don’t know about their plans

Or about the Gas they poured instead of water,
Hey, it’s burnin’ hotter; than the sun
He don’t know about their sorrow,
He’s lived his life by Sword & Gun

Oh how life gets so confusin’
Livin’ life by Sword & Gun
