In the Nightside Eclipse is one of the best black metal albums put out, and is done by one of the best black metal bands around. Emperor orginates from Norway, and gives the true meaning of Norwegian black metal. The keyboards are thick, giving the album a more atmospheric sound, while the drum tempos and the gituar riffs are some of the fastest I've ever heard. Ihsahn's vocals are great, and fit perfectly with the music and the mood of the album. All the songs are well thought out, and well put together. The only real problem with this album is the production isn't great. It suffers from over powering drums and keyboards, and you lose Ihsahn's high pitched vocals from time to time, but overall, it's still a great album, and definately worth checking out. After all, Emperor holds the reigning crown as the leaders of black metal.
