Testament have been releasing albums for the last ten to twelve years now, and with each album, they've progressed musically, and lyrically. Every album has a different style to it. In 1994, they released Low and truly outdid themselves. After the release of the Ritual, a rock oriented album far from their thrash/metal style. Low took many people by suprise as being the heaviest, and hardest album they've ever released. Chuck broadened his vocal horizon, and gave the album a variety of vocals ranging from smooth vocals, to gut wrenching growling. Alex Skolnick, the bands first lead guitarist left, and was replaced my James Murphy, who's worked with bands like Obituary, and Death, shines incredibly on this album, and in my opinion, is one of the best guitarists of this genre. Eric Peterson had the chance to expereince some lead guitaring, as Greg Christian had the chance to show everyone his talent on the bass. John Tempesta of White Zombie layed the drum tracks down, but left. Low is a great album, and everything about it is great. It's heavy, and at times, fast, and can really get your adrenalin pumping.
