Overview

This is their first release at Mario Schönwälders Manikin Records, Berlin,  and their first release as
"Fanger&Kersten". It´s different to all Mind~Flux releases containing slower beats and more
subtle tracks.

Nevertheless their 70s EM influence is still recognizable. They added Ambient, House Ambient and
a lot of  "Mouse on Mars" atmospherical elements to Kraftwerk styled rhythms and Berlin School
analogue stuff.

It hits a straight 5 in a (0-5) rating scheme and is one of my Top 20 favourites of the 90s.

Track by track review

01 Electrone [10:34]

The first thing I'm thinking of is "Elektronen tanzen den Kraftwerk Beat"
(Electrons are dancing the Kraftwerk Beat).

This track is a must for all Kraftwerk fans. :-)
I never heard such heavily Kraftwerk influences in any Mind~Flux tracks before.

Smoothy mellotron meets Wolfgang Flür. A vocoder says "The electronic heart"
and then Kraftwerk is finally back.

I'm really getting a kick out of this subtle tune.

02 Blue Crossroad [9:31]

This one is even slightly better !
Echoed Synth chords reminiscent of Göttschings rhythm guitar, a dub bass line, and
again Flürean drum work. They are using the nice short electro sounds from Electric Café.

Gee! What's this ? A nice synth-guitar solo with a few notes only,  but this is the style
I really like: playing a single note when others would play 5 or more.

An Electronic Dream with ca. 110 bpms :-)
The sound is brilliant too, BTW.

They must use a sound processing device, a kinda harmonizer like the SPL tube thingy.

03 Alone in Central Park [10:34]

A strange disharmonic arpeggio sequence starts the track.
Echoed effects over and over, every sounding different in the stereo field.
High End sound for mums son ! :-)

04 Between Blue and Green [10:28]

What's between blue and green ?
A nice slow reggae styled bass line and strange synth violins.
After 2:20 minutes the electronic percussion work raises the attention.
I like this funny tune.

05 Divers Paradise [6:53]

This is an underwater soundtrack. Bubbling air bubbles and a slow break beat rhythm
while you are imagining beautiful fishes and wonderful corals. Suddenly a
Barracuda appears creating a very dangerous and dark atmosphere...
A fisherman in form of a crystal melody is keeping the peace ;-)

Music for the deeper mind. If I ever will visit the Maldives again Ill surely take this
CD with me as the most perfect score one can imagine...

06 Five Seasons [12:23]

A Dark Ambient atmosphere and a very deep bass line, the speakers are crying:
"No more volume, please".

This is the best of all these brilliant tracks. Although it´s not very quick my body
is shaking more and more.

Ooh. A nice melody appears after 3 minutes. Cool Ambient EM with a driving rhythm.

This CD is a HUGE surprise although I really love the Mind~Flux CDs.

After seven minutes someone started to play great synth guitar riffs ala Lüül (Ashra).

Is this the future of the Electronic Music ?

07 Déjà Vu [7:39]

Dark, dark, dark beginning. Nightmares are calling the lord of the death.
Huhuhuhuhu ha.

He appears for a short moment and then the shuttle takes off...

Cool vocoder stuff and a Schulzean synth solo after 2:30...
while the Kraftwerk styled rhythm hops with break beats.

08 Automatic Bitmap [3:53]

The final track starts with bubbles and a deep breezing tone.
This is Ambient. No wonder after the Fanger & Siebert project on Pete Namlook´s
FAX label.
