A scary pop video by the Backstreet Boys has been voted the best of all time by young pop fans, beating acts like Robbie Williams and Britney Spears.

The promo for the hit single "Everybody," which featured the band in spooky costumes as ghosts and werewolves, topped the poll by British teen magazine "Smash Hits" and music channel The Box.

The American boy band also figured at No.9 -- with the song "I Want It That Way" -- in the vote by fans who are mainly aged 15 to 24. More than 10,000 votes were cast in the e-mail and magazine poll, with votes coming in from around world.

Britney Spears was runner-up with the video for her first hit "Baby One More Time," in which she dressed in a school uniform, while Robbie Williams's "Rock DJ" -- which was censored because of its disturbing images -- was third.

Backstreet Boy Howie D says, "'Everybody' is my favorite. It was a fun video to make because it was the first one we really had a lot of input on. It was totally our idea, like a '90s version of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller.'" -- WENN
