The Radio Music Awards 2000 was held on Saturday, November 4 in Las Vegas with The Backstreet Boys, Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), and Sisqo as co-hosts for the star-studded event.

A slipup that attracted much attention was when The Backstreet Boys' "Show Me The Meaning (Of Being Lonely)" won for the "Most Requested Slow Dance Song" category, but the song that played to accompany the group as they received their award was "This I Promise You" by *NSYNC.

The Backstreet Boys maintained a pleasant disposition but displeasure was evident in member Kevin Richardson's frown, and when it was his turn to give his thanks, he simply said, "To whoever was responsible for playing the music when we were walking out, thanks for a great job."

Aside from that mix-up that had wiser members of the audience shaking their head, the lineup of performers thoroughly entertained for the evening. Big names like Enrique Iglesias, No Doubt, Christina Aguilera, Joe, The Wallflowers, Jay-Z, and 98 Degrees performed their current hit or a medley of their hits. Even pop princess Britney Spears had to share in the festivities by telecasting a live performance of "Stronger" from her world tour in Hanover, Germany.

Other winners for the evening include *NYSNC, Sisqo, 98 Degrees and Ricky Martin. Though it was very much a male-dominated award ceremony with all the awards bagged by male artists. The winners are:
