Nick got on a flight straight to Tampa. The others decided that they would perform that night and then go to Tampa following the concert. Once Nick got to Tampa, he headed straight to the hospital. He called his mom and asked if they had any news. She didn’t. Once Nick got to the hospital he saw Spring. “Where is she?” he asked. BJ looked at the others.
“Nick,” Aaron started. He looked at his older brother. Aaron had idolized Nick for as long as he could remember. “The doctors are trying to stop the bleeding. “ Nick looked at Aaron blankly. He went numb. “The baby’s heart rate drop, so the had to give her a C-section…” Aaron trailed off.
One of the doctors came into the room. He looked at Nick. “Are you the father?” Nick nodded. “It’s a girl,” the doctor said. Nick was too scared to be happy.
“How’s my wife?”
“She is still in the OR They are trying to stop the bleeding. You are very lucky that your sister got her here in time for us to save the baby.
Nick looked at the doctor, “Save the baby? Do you mean…?” Nick couldn’t even say the words.
“Mr. Carter, she has lost a lot of blood, but there is always hope.” Nick felt a pain in his heart. He couldn’t lose Jasmine. “Now, if you come with me- I’ll take you to see your daughter.”
Nick followed the doctor to the nursery. The doctor took Nick to a separate room and one of the nurses brought the baby. The nurse brought some paper work for Nick to fill out. The baby was born three weeks early. The nurse asked what the baby’s name was, but Nick told her that Jasmine and he hadn’t decided yet.
The doctor came back, "Your wife is out of surgery, Mr. Carter. You can go and see her." The nurse took the baby from Nick. Nick followed the doctor to Jasmine's room. She was lying there on the bed. Nick looked through he window. He rested his head on the glass as he looked at the love of his life, just lying there helpless. BJ, Leslie, Aaron, and Angel were already inside. Nick took a deep breath and walked inside. BJ saw him and motioned for the others to leave. BJ closed the door behind them. Nick sat on the chair and took a hold of Jasmine's hand. It was cold. ""Jasmine, I love you. I'm so sorry," Nick started talking to her. The guys came in later that night, and they too, headed straight for the hospital.
