Who's Hanson?

Well, let's have a look at the guys. The oldest one of the trio is Isaac, or Ike. He's 17 and he plays the guitar. And girls, he's single!

Then we have Taylor, or Tay. He's 15 and plays the keyboard and percussion. And ladies, this young man hasn't found true love eighter yet!

And last, but certainly not least, there's Zachary, or Zac. He's 12 and plays the drums. Again we can jump for joy, this fine little man doesn't have a girlfriend!

Okay. Let's move on to their music. The roots of their music are in the early 50's and 60's. Yep, the boys just love rock'n'roll! That's because they listened to a tape over and over again, when they lived in Equador, Venezuela and Trinidad because of their dad's job. Ike started writing songs when he was about 8. And soon Tay joined in singing songs together with Ike. Later on, Zac sang along with his bros, they sang at the dinner table. The fact they love music so much, isn't that strange. Their parents were both in a choir, and mum was a music teacher. You could say that music is in their blood.

The brothers performed in Tulsa in restaurants and at festivals. They sang a capella rock'n'roll hits. At that time, they danced to it. The boys called the group "The Hanson Brothers" at first, but later on they decided that just "Hanson" sounded better. They began writing lotsa songs, and hired musicians to accompany their singing. They recorded a record: "Boomerang". They released it, and at local gigs the fans could buy their first cd. But it wasn't enough. Hanson wanted to play the instruments themselves, so they picked up instruments. After practising, the guys went upstage singing and playing their own music. The boys releases a second self-distributed album: "MMMBop".

But if that wasn't still enough, they wanted to be with a recordcompany. So they sent in lotsa demos. And they experienced lotsa disappointments. Of course Hanson didn't wanna give up. So when Christopher Sabec was in town, they just went up to him, and sang for him. Sabec was impressed, and signed them up with Mercury Records. Under that label Hanson released their third record: "Middle Of Nowhere". So, that's the story very short. But if you wanna read everything and all details about that, you should read the official book: "Hanson, the official book". It's written by Jarrod Gollihare in coöperation with the guys.

Hanson's first single of "Middle Of Nowhere" was "MMMBop". Their second single "Where's The Love" was released short after the first one. Then "I Will Come To You" came out as third. I think it has a beautiful video. And last but not least "Weird" appeared in the recordstores. Hanson also made a homevideo, called "Tulsa, Tokyo and The Middle Of Nowhere". You can see in this video how the guys handle the crazyness and their growing fame. If ya wanne get to know Hanson better, you should really watch this tape! A lotta books about Hanson appeared. Some titles are "Hanson, the boys from nowhere", "Totally Taylor", "Zac attack" and many others. These are all unofficial ones. Hanson also released a Christmas album, called "Snowed In". It has a lot of 'christmasoldies' on it, put in a new jacket. Three songs on this record Hanson wrote themselves. Of course lotsa other Hansonstuff is for sale: caps, calendars, posters, postcards, stickers, flags and much, much more. You can order some things at the official Hanson site. They have some merchandise you may be interested in!

Ike, Tay and Zac are not the only kids in the Hansonhousehold. After Zac comes Jessica, she's 9. Then we have Avery, she's 7. A boy's next in line: Mackenzie, he's 4. And the youngest one is Zoë, she's only three months old. That the familyspirit is very important to the Hansons can be detected by the involvement of all Hansonmembers in the popgroup. Everywhere Ike, Tay and Zac go, the whole family travels with them. In interviews and layouts for magazines the younger sibs have something to say too. Mum and dad are behind all the decisions their sons make, and in the beginning they helped them out with booking the gigs. They say to them: "If you really wanna do something, then just go for it. If you wanna quit, then that's fine with us." It shows that Hanson put their family above all, just look at them when they're talking about their familymembers. They are glinsening. They love to talk about their family.

Well, I hope you got to know the Hansondudes a little better. In my opinion they are three very talented young men, with great personalities, who are going for their goal in life: do what you wanna do because you love it.
