Chapter Two
EARLIER
'It's not fair, it's just not fair!' Danny sobbed as the men lowered her gramma six feet under. When she was four, her mother and father had been killed in a car crash. Gramma had looked after her ever since, now two weeks after her 14th birthday, she was watching Gramma's coffin as it was laid in a grave near her parents. Danny turned around to where her best friend Kathy and Mrs Ingles,(Kathy's mum), were waiting,
'I'm ready to go now,'
All three walked to the Ingles car to drive Danny to the airport. She was to live with her Gramma's best friend's family. Kathy had joked that Danny could be going to stay with Hanson, but Danny knew this was no joke, but she had to keep that little secret to herself.
Danny unplugged the earphones from the aeroplane's radio system, there was nothing worth listening to. She checked her watch, '4:30am' it proudly displayed, 4:30 in Tulsa time that was. She already missed her friends back in Daylesford. Danny had lived in Daylesford since she was six, all her friends had thrown a gigantic suprise going away party for her. Danny sorted through her travelling bag and pulled out the 'Memory Book' Kathy had made for her. She flicked it open to a picture of Kathy and herself in a paddle boat travelling accross Lake Daylesford, she read the caption, laughed then flicked to another page.
Danny collected her suitcases together on a trolley then made her way out into the foyer,
'Danny!' a voice called, Danny turned to where Diana was hurrying throgh the crowd. After initial greetings Diana said,
'Oh, come meet Taylor, he's the only one of my kids that could come to meet you here,'
'Sure,' Danny replied, Diana led her over to a magazine stand,
'Taylor, this is Danny Hales,' Diana said as the most gorgeous boy Danny had ever seen turned around,
'.......She's been wanting to meet you,'
