Sunny peered over her sleeping sister, out of the aeroplane window,
all she could see was an endless plain of clouds.
' This is America?' Sunny asked no-one in particular, 'what a waste
of time, we could have stayed in Australia.
Sunny Jamieson, her mum Gail, her brother Matt and her sisters Bri, and Ellie had just finished crossing the Atlantic and were on their way to Oklahoma. The reason? Sunny's dad had died the year earlier, and in an attempt to heal the wound, Gail, her mum, was shifting the whole family halfway across the globe.
'Mum,' Sunny stuck her head over the chair in front of her, 'remind
me again why we are moving.'
'Sunny, it seems to me that I am constantly telling you over and over
again, my best friend, who I haven't seen for ages, wrote to me in her
last letter that the house next her her was vacant, and had been for 3
months, and i thought that us moving back to the town of my birthplace
would be a good opportunity to start again.'
'You mean forget about dad?'
'No Sunny! I don't mean it that way, it's just the old place back in
Queensland brought back too many memories of your dad and me together.'
Sunny remembered was a sniffling wreck her mum had been over the past
year and excepted her mum's reasoning .......almost,
'But I'll never see Kitty and Jude again!' she exclaimed, remembering
her two best friends,
'I'm sure they'll come and visit,'
'They can't, remember it takes days and a fortune to get to.......
to get to.......,' Sunny struggled to remember where on earth her new home
would be...
'Tulsa,' her mum supplied,
'Whatever!' Sunny slouched down in her chair, plugged in the earphones
and tried to find a decent channel on the aeroplane radio.
