Chapter Nine 'Mum! I'm home!'
'Hi home,' Mrs Jamieson said as she looked out from the kitchen, 'How was your Tulsa tour?'
'Great! Oh, they showed us the mall,' Sunny told her mother, 'Can I ring Kitty and Jude?'
'Sunny,' Her mother came out of the kitchen wiping her hands on a tea towel,' You know how expensive a call would be,' Sunny gave her mum a pleading look, 'No Sunny, But I'll find out when it's cheapest to call. Where's Bri?'
The front door slammed,
'Hi mum!' Bri said as she skated into the hall,
'No skates inside Bri!'
'Oops sorry,' she slid off her skates, 'Need any help?'
'You girls are sweet, but all the help I need now is a phone call to the pizza place and coffee!'
Sunny started to flick through the phone directory, and Bri went into the kitchen,
'Mum! where's the nescafe` or whatever they call it over here?' Bri called as she sorted throgh the cupboards,
'Top Left above the sink!' Gail said as she sunk into the comfy chair, there was a noise at the door, 'Get the door will you Sunny!'
Sunny put down the phone book, and went down the hall to the door and opened it. A girl her age stood outside with a cake,
'Hi! I'm Jenny, I live on the other side of the Hanson's, mum sent me over with this to welcome you guys to the neighborhood,'
'I'm Sunny, come in,' Sunny took the cake as Jenny stepped inside, 'looks nice, what is it?'
'Chocolate sponge,'
'Mmm, my favourite,' Sunny led her into the living room, 'Mum, this is Jenny, she lives on the other side of the Hansons,'
Gail smiled, 'nice to meet you Jenny, I'd get up if I could but I'm worn out,'
'That's Ok Mrs Jamieson,'
'Oh that makes me sound really old, call me Gail,'
Bri came out of the kitchen and handed her mother the coffee, 'Hi, I'm Bri!'
'I'm Jenny, I live at the other side of the Hansons,'
'Ask and she'll say it again,' Sunny looked over at her mother, 'Where are Ellie and Matt?'
'Oh, they're over at the Hanson's, could you get them for me Sunny?'
'Ok mum,'
'I'll come you with you Sunny, I've gotta be home soon anyhow,' Jenny explained as she followed Sunny out the door, 'I hope you like the cake, bye Gail, bye Bri!' Chapter Ten
